To play Poppy Playtime with other people, launch a separate multiplayer game—not one of the main chapter games. Mob Entertainment’s newer co-op title is Escape From Playtime, announced for Steam Early Access on October 21, 2026. The older Project: Playtime is a distinct 6-versus-1 game, but Mob has announced plans to end its operations later in 2026.
Choose the multiplayer game you mean
The main Poppy Playtime chapter games are separate from the franchise’s multiplayer spin-offs. There is no multiplayer toggle in a chapter to enable co-op.

How to play Escape From Playtime
1. Check whether you can access it
Mob announced October 21, 2026 as the Early Access date, with Steam as the planned launch platform. A reported open beta was available only through 6 p.m. Pacific on October 4, 2026; that was a temporary playtest, not ongoing access. If the beta has ended, check the Steam game page and Mob’s official FAQ for current availability. The FAQ also links to an early-playtesting signup, but signing up does not guarantee immediate access.
2. Check that your PC meets the published requirements
Mob lists these developer-published PC specifications; they are not independent performance-test results.

3. Play solo or invite friends
Start alone or play with up to three friends, for a maximum group of four. The game centers on exploring changing factory areas, collecting materials for a mysterious project, finding tools and clues, solving puzzles, and avoiding hostile toys. You will need to work together while gathering and returning resources.

4. Use voice chat if it suits your group
Voice chat uses proximity: teammates farther away are harder to hear. A microphone is optional, and the game has no in-game text chat. Steam-supported controllers are supported. Mob says its planned Early Access release is expected to include eight Smiling Critters, one starter zone and a core enemy lineup; it has not specified a schedule for future additions.
