Play Perfect Dark on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S
Microsoft lists the Xbox release of Perfect Dark for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. You can buy the game on its own or play it through Rare Replay, a 30-game collection that includes it. Check the live Xbox listing for current regional availability and edition details: Perfect Dark on Xbox and Rare Replay.

The Xbox listing advertises polished textures, 4K Ultra HD capability, and compatibility with both listed console generations. Those details make Xbox the straightforward modern-console route, but the available sources do not provide a complete comparison of every difference from the N64 version. Do not assume that all content, controls, visuals, or behavior are identical.
Stream it with Xbox Cloud Gaming
Microsoft lists cloud play for Game Pass Premium and Ultimate. With Essential, streaming this title requires purchasing the game. Cloud play depends on the title being available in your region and on current plan terms, so check the live store listing and your account’s entitlements before relying on this option.

Is the original Perfect Dark available on PC?
The official product listing reviewed names Xbox consoles and cloud gaming, not Windows PC. Xbox’s July 22, 2026 announcement about bringing selected original Xbox games to PC named four titles: BLiNX: The Time Sweeper, Conker: Live and Reloaded, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, and Fuzion Frenzy. Perfect Dark was not among that initial group. That program is not evidence of a native Windows release of this game; check current Xbox listings because the PC catalog may change. Perfect Dark originally released for Nintendo 64 on May 19, 2000. If you want to play it on original hardware, Nintendo specifies different Expansion Pak requirements by mode:

Nintendo describes one-to-four-player support and two-to-four-player Deathmatch. The game has Agent, Secret Agent, and Perfect Agent difficulty settings; higher difficulties increase enemy AI and add more complex mission tasks. See Nintendo’s Perfect Dark page for its N64 details.

Which route should you choose?
- You have an Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S: Use the Xbox release or Rare Replay, depending on which edition is available to you.
- You want to stream: Check regional support and whether your Game Pass plan includes cloud play for the game; Essential requires a purchase to stream it.
- You want the original N64 release: Use N64 hardware, and add an Expansion Pak if you plan to play solo missions or multiplayer with three or four players.
- You want a native Windows PC version: The official listings reviewed here do not establish one. Do not mistake Xbox’s separate original-Xbox PC program for a PC release of Perfect Dark.
