How to join the Squad PS5 alpha
Access is handled through Offworld Industries’ official enlistment page rather than a general store search. Follow these steps:

When does the PS5 alpha start and end?
The preview begins on Friday, October 16, 2026, and ends on Sunday, October 25, 2026. Official information reviewed for the announcement does not state a precise start time, regional exclusions, or whether the normal PlayStation Plus online requirement is waived for this free test. Plan to use the alpha only within the published dates, and check the official page for any access notices.

What is included in the alpha?
The preview uses a focused scenario rather than the complete future console package. Its official FAQ places players in a fight between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the People’s Liberation Army over a strategic rail line on the Gorodok map.
That means the alpha is intended to demonstrate the console experience and a specific faction-and-map matchup. The full set of launch modes, maps and factions listed for the eventual console edition should not be treated as guaranteed alpha content.

Can Xbox players join this alpha?
No. This preview is specifically for PlayStation 5 owners. Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are planned platforms for the full console edition, but the current alpha sign-up and download route is for PS5.

The complete Squad Console Edition is planned for 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Offworld Industries has not announced an exact launch date. The alpha is therefore a preview, not the final commercial release.
