What Poppy Secret Run is
SoWhen? describes Poppy Secret Run as “an interactive musical journey hosted exclusively on Fortnite.” Rather than a conventional concert video, the island places players inside a surreal universe organized around clocks, choices and exploration. The main performance is built around Poppy’s “Time Will Tell.”

Players travel through the world while making decisions that send them down either a Light or Dark route. Those choices determine where the run leads, so the experience has a narrative structure rather than one fixed sequence for everyone. Two versions of Poppy guide players through the clock-themed setting, and Poppy’s real-life sphynx cat, Pi, also appears.

When it launches and how long it lasts
The scheduled availability window is October 23 through November 23, 2026. That makes Secret Run a limited-time island: access is expected during that one-month run, not as a permanent Fortnite mode. Players who want to see every path or revisit the performance should plan around the closing date.

How the experience plays
Choose Light or Dark
The central interaction is route selection. As you move through the clock universe, decisions determine whether your journey follows the Light or Dark path. The announcement does not publish a complete decision map, so the exact number of branches and endings has not been stated.
Play the musical journey or watch the performance
Secret Run includes a performance-only mode that removes the gameplay layer. That gives players a way to experience Poppy’s presentation without navigating the interactive route. The project therefore supports both an exploratory playthrough and a more direct music-focused viewing session.

Open the locked doors
Locked doors hide additional stories that Poppy has not previously shared. They are presented as optional discoveries beyond the main run, giving repeat visits a purpose even after a player has completed one route.
Access, player count and platforms
The announcement says Fortnite is free to play on consoles, PC and mobile. Secret Run can be entered solo or with a group of up to four players. The four-player limit applies to the experience’s stated group size; it is not the same as Fortnite Festival’s published “solo or up to three other players” format.

Is this part of Fortnite Festival?
No. Fortnite Festival is Epic’s music-based rhythm experience, with Main Stage and Jam Stage modes. Secret Run is described instead as an independent Fortnite experience built around a branching story and an artist performance. Its core mechanics are exploration and choice, not note-based rhythm play.

What Epic Games’ role is
Although the island is hosted on Fortnite, SoWhen?’s developer post says it was independently created in Fortnite and is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Epic Games. That distinction matters: Fortnite supplies the platform, but Secret Run is not being presented as an Epic-administered Fortnite Festival season, pass item or official Epic production.
What to expect on launch day
- Install or update Fortnite on a supported console, PC or mobile device.
- Look for the Poppy Secret Run island when it becomes available on October 23, 2026.
- Choose solo play or assemble a party of up to four.
- Follow the interactive route and make Light or Dark decisions.
- Replay the island to try a different path, use performance-only mode, and investigate locked doors.
The announcement does not state an island code, download size, minimum hardware specification, matchmaking region or whether progress persists between sessions. Those practical details may determine how the experience is presented in Fortnite at launch, but they have not been published in the available announcement material.

Why the format is different from a standard virtual concert
Secret Run combines three layers: a music performance, a choice-driven journey and optional lore. The Light/Dark structure gives the song a navigable setting, while the two Poppy characters and Pi make the world feel like a designed story space rather than a simple stage. The performance-only mode keeps the project accessible to anyone who wants the audiovisual presentation without the quest elements, and the locked-door stories reward players who return after their first run.
Because the island closes on November 23, 2026, its branching design is also part of the event’s appeal: players have a finite window to compare routes, play with friends and uncover the optional material.
