To raise a Vision’s Awakening Level in Final Fantasy Resonance, clear Siren’s Tower in late Chapter 1, return to Grandport Harbor, and speak with the Moogle of Light twice. The second conversation unlocks Vision Enhancement. Spend one Magicite Shard for Awakening Level 1, one Magicite for Level 2, and one Magicite Cryst for Level 3, the maximum. Awakening unlocks additional Vision skills; it is separate from Mastery Rank, which increases through combat.
How do I unlock Vision Enhancement?
Vision Enhancement becomes available only after the Siren’s Tower sequence. Follow these steps in order:

- Defeat the boss in Siren’s Tower. This is the late-Chapter 1 requirement that starts the unlock sequence.
- Leave Grandport and enter Grandport Harbor. Follow the active objective rather than trying to open the enhancement menu early.
- Cross toward the item shop. A cutscene with the Moogle of Light begins, and the tutorial provides a free Magicite Shard.
- Speak to the Moogle of Light again. The second conversation opens the Vision Enhancement interface.
- Select a Vision, check the displayed material, and confirm. After the purchase, the menu should show the new Awakening Level and the skills that tier makes available.
If the menu is missing, the usual cause is that Siren’s Tower or the second Moogle conversation has not been completed. Leave and re-enter the harbor only after the objective has advanced; the first conversation alone does not open enhancement.
What Magicite do I need for Awakening Levels 1, 2 and 3?
Each tier uses a different size of Magicite, and the materials cannot be combined to replace a required larger piece. Awakening Level 3 is the cap recorded by AllThingsHow in 2026.

The gil figures describe the listed Colosseum prices, not a universal purchase requirement: you can also obtain Magicite through exploration, quests, enemies and rewards. A collection of Shards will not substitute for the Magicite or Magicite Cryst needed by a later tier.
What does Awakening do to a Vision?
A newly obtained Vision does not expose its complete kit. The in-game tutorial explains that harnessing the power in Magicite awakens Visions and unlocks newfound skills. In practical terms, the enhancement screen is where you spend the material and then see the newly available abilities.

Awakening is not the same system as Mastery Rank. Mastery Rank rises from Mastery Points earned while fighting with a Vision equipped. Those battles do not automatically spend Magicite, and spending Magicite does not replace the need to earn Mastery Points.

A broader location guide records five Magicite Shard chests, four Magicite chests and four Magicite Cryst chests. Additional sources include Tablet Shard rewards, first-time Colosseum rewards, finds detected with the Mysidia Radar and a later Merchant Ship sale. Availability depends on how far you have progressed, so a missing Cryst early in the story is not evidence that the item is unavailable overall.
How do Tablet Shards contribute to Magicite?
Tablet Shards are a separate collectible rather than another Awakening material. In the Oblivion Palace, fixed shard-count rewards include Magicite, so collecting tablets can supplement the direct chest and quest routes without changing the three-tier cost order.

Which Vision should I awaken first?
Spend early materials on a Vision that will remain in your active party. Because each tier consumes a specific, limited-size item, raising a temporary bench Vision can delay a skill unlock on a character you use in every battle.
- Support-focused party: a Vision whose early tiers provide healing or status recovery can improve survival immediately.
- Offensive party: prioritize a Vision whose newly unlocked skills improve damage or stagger pressure.
- Uncertain roster: wait until you know which Vision occupies the slot consistently; there is no documented need to awaken every Vision at once.
This is a role-based planning rule, not a universal tier list. Check the enhancement screen’s skill preview and compare it with the role your current team is missing.

What should I check if Awakening is not working?
- No Vision Enhancement option: confirm that Siren’s Tower’s boss is defeated and that you spoke to the Moogle of Light a second time in Grandport Harbor.
- Material appears unusable: verify the size shown by the menu. A Shard is for Level 1, while Levels 2 and 3 require the larger Magicite and Magicite Cryst respectively.
- No new skill after purchase: reopen the Vision’s details and confirm that the Awakening Level increased. Skills are tied to the unlocked tier, not to Mastery Rank.
- Mastery Rank did not rise: Awakening purchases and combat-earned Mastery Points are separate progression tracks.

How many Tablet Shards are in the game?
The Oblivion Palace collection is reported to contain 99 Tablet Shards in total. Its fixed rewards include two Magicite Shards, one Magicite and one Magicite Cryst at the specified shard thresholds.
Can I earn Magicite without opening the Colosseum shop?
Yes. Treasure chests, quests and unique enemies provide the core supply, including early Chapter 1 rewards. Radar discoveries, Tablet Shard rewards and later Merchant Ship stock add other routes.
