A Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium tier list is a snapshot of a publisher’s priorities—not a universal build order. Before investing in a Doll, check when and where the list applies, which modes it evaluates, and what duplicate or weapon investment it assumes. Then match the Doll’s role and mechanics to the squad and stage you need to clear.
Start by checking what the tier list actually covers
Two lists can rank the same Doll differently without either being wrong: they may describe different servers, dates, content modes, or investment levels. Treat each placement as a claim within that list’s stated scope, not as an official or permanent ranking.

- Date and version: A newer update may include newly released Dolls or reflect a changed game. Pocket Gamer labels its Global list Version 2.18 and says it was updated September 16, 2026; it notes OTs-14 as its latest addition. Read Pocket Gamer’s tier list.
- Server or region: Confirm that the list covers the server where you play. Pocket Gamer explicitly scopes its list to Global, so its roster coverage should not automatically be applied to another server.
- Modes and objective: Loadout.gg says its rankings assess overall PvE value across campaign, bossing, and expansion drills, with separate treatment of broad picks, Dolls strong in a role or mode, and situational options. That scope does not establish a universal PvP ranking. Its list was updated September 1, 2026. Read Loadout.gg’s tier list.
- Investment assumptions: Loadout.gg says its assessments assume some duplicate and weapon investment. A placement under those assumptions may not transfer directly to a base-copy account.
- Reasoning behind the rank: Look for an explanation of a Doll’s job, strengths, limitations, and conditions. A tier label without that context is less useful for deciding what your roster needs.
For a useful comparison, put the lists side by side and check update date/version, server, evaluated modes, duplicate and weapon assumptions, and whether they reward general usefulness or specialist performance. Do not average their rankings into a pretend consensus: their scopes and judgments differ.
Translate a rank into a team job
Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium divides Dolls into four classes, each suggesting a broad squad function. The class is a starting point, not a complete description of what a character can do. Prydwen’s systems guide describes these roles and related mechanics, but it was last updated November 30, 2024, so it may not reflect later changes. - Sentinel: Damage dealing.
- Vanguard: Mobile scouting and sub-DPS.
- Support: Healing and buffs.
Look at what your current squad lacks before chasing a top-ranked damage dealer. A strong Support may contribute more to a struggling team than another Sentinel, while a Bulwark can matter when the frontline is the problem. Check the Doll’s actual abilities and conditions as well as the class label.
Factor in the stage, not just the roster screen
Encounter mechanics can change which Doll is useful. Prydwen’s guide says enemies have ammo and elemental weaknesses; hitting a weakness reduces Stability, while cover interacts with Stability’s damage reduction. These mechanics make enemy composition and positioning relevant to roster choice.

- Check the stage’s enemy types and any stated ammo or elemental weaknesses.
- Choose Dolls who can exploit the weaknesses your squad can address, rather than selecting solely by overall tier.
- Consider whether your formation can reach and attack those enemies while using cover effectively.
- If the fight is going poorly, identify the obstacle—survival, damage, mobility, or support—and change the Doll or positioning that addresses it.
Read investment recommendations in account context
Duplicate investment can change how a recommendation performs. Prydwen describes Fortification as duplicate-based skill enhancement and uses V0–V6 notation. Loadout.gg’s September 1, 2026 list assumes some duplicate and weapon investment, so compare its recommendations with what your account can actually field rather than treating a high placement as a promise at every investment level.
Weapons also belong in the evaluation: a list that assumes weapon investment may value a Doll differently from a player deciding what to build with current resources. Check whether the guide states a baseline, and separate the Doll’s role from the extra investment behind the rating.

Use examples as context, not universal rules
Pocket Gamer’s September 16, 2026 Global Version 2.18 list describes Qiongjiu as broadly versatile and discusses pairings such as Tololo with Qiongjiu, while also noting that some Dolls depend on the scenario. Those are that guide’s assessments, not guarantees for every account, mode, or stage. Use a pairing recommendation to ask what interaction or team need it addresses, then decide whether your roster and objective match those conditions.
The same list says starting free characters can be used reliably until a better replacement is obtained. That is a practical reminder not to leave a necessary team role empty merely because a unit sits below the top tiers. A lower-ranked Doll who fills a gap or handles a particular encounter can be the better immediate choice.

A practical decision checklist
- Match the list to your game: Verify its date, version, server, and covered modes.
- Check its assumptions: Note any expected duplicates, Fortification level, or weapon investment.
- Name the problem: Decide whether you need frontline durability, damage, mobility/sub-DPS, healing, or buffs—or a way to handle a specific enemy weakness.
- Compare candidates by job: Read why each Doll is ranked where it is and whether the stated strengths fit your stage and roster.
- Invest for your next goal: Prioritize the Doll who solves the account’s current bottleneck, not simply the highest letter grade.
