The steps and materials below come from a guide updated April 19, 2025, but an unofficial wiki archive says the altar is no longer available and lists different materials. Check that the altar is accessible and confirm its current requirements in-game before farming.
What the Anti-Debuff Altar does
Beebom’s April 19, 2025 guide reports that First Sea rods incur a 50% penalty to their stats in Sea 2 and that the altar ritual restores those stats to their original values. This mechanic concerns First Sea rods; Sea 2 rods are outside its scope.
The Fisch Wiki archive, an unofficial community source, says the ritual is performed once per rod and that a cleansed rod has no visible indicator. Treat those details as community-reported rather than confirmed current behavior.
Where to find the altar
The 2025 guide places the altar on The Cursed Shores, in a tunnel near Brother Murk. Its route starts from Waveborne Island and gives the island coordinates as X=-216, Y=86, Z=1917.

- Each gift card grants a free virtual item upon redemption.
- Travel southwest from Waveborne Island to The Cursed Shores.
- Pass Brother Gleem and the Angler’s Hut. Go behind the hut, cross the bridge, and continue up the stairs.
- Pass Brother Murk, enter the tunnel to the left, and follow it to the altar.
The guide recommends using the in-game Fisch GPS to navigate to the coordinates. The unofficial archive gives a different reference, X=-302, Y=122, Z=870, and says to speak with Brother Murk before going through the cavern. These references may mark different points on the island, so use the route landmarks rather than assuming the coordinates identify the same spot.
Materials: two sources disagree
The material list is not consistent across the available guides. Beebom’s 2025 instructions call for Sea Leviathan, Moon Idol Sea 2, and Cursed Thread. The unofficial archive instead lists Exotic, Moon Idol, and Cursed Thread; it says Moon Idol Sea 2 was changed to Moon Idol and is available in the First Sea. The sources do not establish that Sea Leviathan and Exotic are the same item.

| Beebom guide, updated April 19, 2025 | Sea Leviathan; Moon Idol Sea 2; Cursed Thread | Gives the item sources and placement order below. |

Because current availability and requirements are uncertain, check the altar’s prompts in-game before spending time collecting either list.
Where the 2025 guide says to get its items
- Sea Leviathan: Fish in the Sea 2 Open Ocean.
- Moon Idol Sea 2: Obtain it during the Blue Moon Event at Lushgrove.
- Cursed Thread: Fish at The Cursed Shores.
How to perform the reported ritual
- Reach the altar inside the tunnel on The Cursed Shores.
- Place the materials on their assigned podiums: Sea Leviathan in the center, Moon Idol Sea 2 on the left, and Cursed Thread on the right, following the 2025 guide.
- Wait until nighttime.
- Equip and hold the First Sea rod you want to rebuff.
- Approach the altar and press E.
If an item name, podium, or interaction prompt differs in your game, do not assume the older instructions still apply; the current ritual has not been independently confirmed.

Which rods may qualify?
The unofficial archive names Trident Rod, Rod of the Depths, and Ethereal Prism Rod as eligible examples, and suggests other First Sea rods may qualify. Its list is indicative, not a complete verified compatibility guide.
The same archive lists No-Life Rod and Seraphic Rod as unable to be cleansed. This is community documentation, so test the altar’s current prompt before gathering materials for a specific rod. If you are deciding whether a rod is worth the effort, consider whether it is a First Sea rod affected by the penalty, whether it appears on the archive’s ineligible list, how useful it is to you compared with a Sea 2 replacement, and whether the altar is currently accessible.

Does the ritual still work?
That is not established by the available sources. Beebom’s guide, updated April 19, 2025, describes the ritual as usable. The unofficial archive currently marks the altar removed or unobtainable and says it is no longer accessible. There is no official current game source or live gameplay confirmation to resolve the conflict. Treat the ritual as a reported mechanic, not a guaranteed option in the current version.
