You can recover an old Roblox account through the email or phone number already linked to it, retrieve a forgotten username using linked contact details or some purchase receipts, or ask Roblox Support to review an account you cannot access. The route depends on what was attached to the account before you lost access; a new email address or unrelated phone number will not prove ownership.

Reset your Roblox password on PC or mobile
The recovery process is the same whether you are using a computer or a phone: open Roblox’s official Login page or app sign-in screen and use the account recovery link. Roblox requires users to verify account ownership before resetting an account or changing its information. See Roblox Support’s password recovery instructions.
-
On the Roblox Login screen, select Forgot Password or Username?
-
For email recovery, enter the exact address associated with the account. Differences in punctuation can matter. Submit the form and check that email account, including spam, junk, and other filtered folders.

Use a linked phone if the account has no email
If no email is attached but a phone number is, choose the Phone tab in the recovery flow, select the country code, enter the linked number, and complete the verification-code steps. Roblox’s instructions describe a six-digit code followed by password reset. Phone verification is unavailable in some countries, and the number must already be associated with the account; adding one now does not make it a recovery method for the old account. See Roblox’s password recovery article and its account email guidance.
Find a forgotten Roblox username
From the same Forgot Password or Username? screen, use the email address or phone number linked to the account to look for matching usernames. Some Roblox purchase receipts may also show the username used for a transaction. Roblox’s stated methods require a linked email, linked phone, or purchase history; if you have none of those, its guidance does not provide another way to retrieve the username through this flow. Read Roblox Support’s forgotten-username instructions.

If an email address is associated with multiple usernames, Roblox says to sign in with the username rather than the email. See Roblox’s login troubleshooting guidance.
If your old account may have been hacked
Roblox advises cleaning a potentially compromised device before changing account credentials. This order reduces the risk of exposing the replacement password to the same suspicious software or browser extension.
-
Remove suspicious downloads and browser extensions, especially anything obtained outside official sources around the time the account was compromised.

Once the device is clean, use the email or phone recovery flow to reset the password.
-
Enable 2-Step Verification after regaining access.
-
If the reset does not work, submit a request through Roblox Support.
What to include in a support request
Provide the username if you know it, identify the affected device, choose the relevant help category, and describe the login problem in detail. If the account email was changed, Roblox says the first email added to the account or the billing email used for the first payment can help verify ownership. These details help support review the claim, but Roblox explicitly says that providing them “does not guarantee account recovery.” If no email or card/PayPal payment was associated with account creation, support may explore other ownership checks. See Roblox’s hacked-account guidance and its contact instructions.
Lost items and Robux
Regaining the login does not guarantee restoration of the account’s previous state, lost inventory, or virtual currency. Roblox says limited assistance for compromised items or currency may be available if you contact support within 30 days of the compromise; that is not a promise that items will be returned. The policy is described in Roblox’s hacked-account article.

If a 2-Step Verification email does not arrive
-
Confirm that you are checking the email address linked to the Roblox account.
-
Look in spam, junk, and promotions folders.
-
Restart the verification flow or request another code, then check again.
-
If you already configured another verification method, try that method instead.
-
Contact Roblox Support if those steps do not resolve the problem.

Roblox says email verification codes expire after 15 minutes. Its troubleshooting steps are in the 2-Step Verification email guide.
Protect the account after recovery
Use a unique password and enable an available 2-Step Verification method. Roblox lists authenticator app, email, and security-key options; its general safety guidance recommends an authenticator app. The options and setup details are in Roblox’s 2-Step Verification guide.
Never give anyone your password, browser cookies, 2-Step Verification codes, or backup codes. Roblox warns that its employees will not ask you for those secrets. Only sign in through Roblox’s official website or official app—not through a third-party “recovery” service or a link from someone promising to restore the account. See Roblox’s account-safety guidance.
After access is restored, Roblox’s Enhanced Protection is an optional, stronger sign-in protection setup that requires a passkey, verified email, and either a verified phone number or backup codes. Hardware security keys work on supported platforms; check your account and device compatibility before choosing one. Enhanced Protection helps protect future sign-ins—it does not recover an account you cannot access. Details are on Roblox’s Enhanced Protection page.
