To remove RoShade from Roblox, first identify which RoShade product you installed, then use that product’s uninstaller. For the older Windows RoShade installer—which added ReShade files to the Roblox game directory—try its uninstaller or ReShade’s setup tool before manually removing only files you can identify. A browser-based RoShade product or a separate tool such as Unishade needs a different removal method.
First identify which RoShade you installed
“RoShade” can refer to different software. The archived Windows RoShade project used ReShade-related files installed in the Roblox game directory; its GitHub repository was archived on October 20, 2023, so its instructions describe that installer, not necessarily a current product or fork (archived RoShade project). A current RoShade-branded site describes a browser post-processing product, which does not use the same Windows game-folder cleanup method (RoShade website).
Before deleting anything, check how you installed it: an older Windows installer, ReShade itself, Unishade/RobloxShadeHost, or a browser product or extension. The name shown in a search result alone does not establish which software is on your computer.
Remove the older Windows RoShade installation
Try RoShade’s uninstaller first
The archived Windows RoShade installer created an uninstaller executable and a Start menu shortcut. Check Windows’ installed-app list, the Start menu, or the RoShade program folder for an uninstaller, and run it if you find one (archived RoShade project). This is the most direct option when the original installer is still available.

Use ReShade Setup if the RoShade uninstaller is missing
ReShade’s troubleshooting guidance describes an automatic uninstall through its setup tool: select the game executable, choose the graphics API used for that installation, then choose the uninstall option when prompted. For RoShade, select the Roblox installation where the shader was installed—not simply any Roblox executable you happen to find. ReShade’s guidance is from an older page, so the current setup interface may not look exactly the same (ReShade troubleshooting guidance).
Manually remove only positively identified files
If the uninstaller or setup tool is unavailable or fails, inspect the game directory targeted by the installer. ReShade’s general manual-removal guidance identifies its configuration files (such as ReShade.ini and a preset INI), the DLL associated with the rendering API, and the reshade-shaders folder. The archived RoShade installer also used a roshade subfolder and renamed a ReShade DLL for the chosen API (ReShade troubleshooting guidance; archived RoShade project).

File names can vary by graphics API, and other software may use similarly named files. Delete only items you can positively identify as belonging to that ReShade/RoShade installation; do not delete every DLL or every Roblox folder. If you cannot tell which files are safe to remove, contact the product’s support channel or Roblox Support rather than guessing.
If shaders remain after uninstalling
Check whether the uninstaller targeted the same Roblox game directory where RoShade was installed. Repeat the product-identification step and, if applicable, run ReShade Setup against that specific game installation. Avoid deleting other Roblox versions or cache folders without evidence that they contain the shader installation. If the remaining problem is that Roblox itself is malfunctioning, use Roblox’s broader troubleshooting route instead.

When to reinstall Roblox
Roblox Support recommends uninstalling and reinstalling Roblox as a possible fix for persistent technical problems with the Roblox App or Studio. For continuing Windows issues, its instructions say to uninstall Roblox and then delete the Roblox folder under %LOCALAPPDATA%; Roblox says this should not delete Studio places unless they were manually saved there (Roblox Support: How to Uninstall Roblox). This is a broader cleanup than removing shader files, so reserve it for problems with Roblox itself—not as the default RoShade removal step.
Unishade and other similarly named tools
Unishade/RobloxShadeHost is a separate project, not the archived Windows RoShade installer. Its documentation says to open Unishade Setup from the Start menu and choose Uninstall. The app ordinarily retains settings, presets, and added effects unless you select the option to delete user files (RobloxShadeHost documentation). Follow that product’s instructions rather than deleting RoShade or ReShade files based on the similar name.
