If a supposed GTA 6 gameplay video, beta offer, giveaway, download, or account check looks suspicious, don’t use its links or give it information. Save the details, report the specific post or message where you found it, and report suspicious Rockstar account activity to Rockstar Support. If you shared money, identity information, account credentials, or access to your device, take the matching recovery steps too. A report can help a platform or agency act, but it does not guarantee removal or a refund.
What should I do first when I find a suspicious GTA 6 offer?
- Don’t engage with the offer. Don’t enter a password, payment details, recovery code, or other personal information, and don’t download a supposed beta or installer from the page.
- Check announcements independently. Navigate to a known official Rockstar website or account yourself. Don’t verify a surprising message through its own link. The FTC recommends contacting a company through a phone number or website you already know is genuine: How To Recognize and Avoid Phishing Scams.
- Keep useful details. Note where the offer appeared, the account or channel name, the post or video title, when you saw it, and what it asked you to do. Preserve a screenshot or message if you can do so safely. Don’t repost a suspicious link to warn others.
- Report the specific item on the service where you saw it. Choose the post, video, message, advertisement, or account involved, and explain the concrete behavior—such as asking for Rockstar credentials or offering a suspicious installer.
Where do I report a fake GTA 6 gameplay video?
YouTube videos and Shorts
Open the video or Short, select its More menu, choose Report, select the closest applicable reason, and provide useful details such as timestamps. YouTube reviews reports, but a report does not automatically remove content. Reporting a channel also does not prompt YouTube to review every video on it, so report each specific video that you believe violates policy. Use the service’s in-app or website reporting control for the specific content or account. The right category and steps vary by service; report what the post actually does rather than relying only on a “GTA 6” label.

How do I report a fake link or suspicious Rockstar account activity?
If a message impersonates Rockstar or a third-party service asks for your Rockstar account information, report the suspicious account activity to Rockstar Support. Rockstar’s account guidance warns about impersonation and services seeking account details: Best Practices for Protecting Your Rockstar Games Account.

What should I do if I clicked a fake GTA 6 link?
Clicking a link alone does not establish that your account or device was compromised. Act according to what you did on the page:

Enable two-factor authentication. If you can’t access the account, use that service’s official recovery route.
- If you entered payment information or sent money: Contact your bank, card issuer, payment app, or other payment provider promptly using a trusted official channel. What can be stopped or recovered depends on the payment method and circumstances; reimbursement is not guaranteed.
- If you shared identity information: In the United States, report identity theft and use the recovery guidance at IdentityTheft.gov.
- If you downloaded or opened a file: Update your security software, scan the device, and remove any threats it identifies. Don’t run an installer you don’t trust.

How do I report a scam to the FTC?
If you are in the United States, report scams and fraud at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. Follow the prompts for the relevant category, describe what happened, and submit the information you are comfortable providing. The FTC says reports help it build cases, spot trends, and inform the public; filing does not promise a resolution of an individual loss. Be cautious when an unexpected message or page asks for Rockstar sign-in details, payment, recovery codes, or a download in exchange for beta access, a giveaway, or supposed gameplay. Verify announcements through official channels reached independently rather than through the offer’s link.

In August 2026, Malwarebytes reported fake GTA VI demo pages that copied a genuine announcement and used “Play Now” links leading to an executable presented as an installer. The report identified a file named gta6_installer.exe. This is Malwarebytes’ threat analysis, not a confirmation from Rockstar, and it does not mean every gameplay clip or link is malicious.
