What rerolling is—and what makes a reroll worth keeping
Rerolling means creating a fresh local save, using the first tickets and Cat Food available on that save, and restarting if the result does not give your account a useful early-game foundation. The objective is not to own a famous unit. It is to begin with a practical roster that can clear ordinary story stages while you build levels, treasures and User Rank.
A strong result usually combines at least one broadly useful gacha unit with the guaranteed or freely earned Cats you receive during normal play. Look for coverage that works in many campaign stages, not a specialist that is excellent only against one narrow enemy type. Range, survivability and reliable damage are especially valuable while your basic Cats are still low level and your treasures are incomplete.

Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Campaign usefulness: the unit contributes in ordinary story stages instead of requiring a very specific matchup.
- Frontline stability: enough range, durability or damage to prevent early enemies from overwhelming your basic line.
- Trait coverage: abilities or attack profiles that help against common campaign traits.
- Upgrade practicality: a unit you can level and use before you have a mature endgame resource supply.
- Roster fit: the pull fills a missing role rather than duplicating a free unit you already use.
The best early account is therefore a package: useful opening pulls, complementary free units, and enough remaining resources to take advantage of future banners. A slightly less celebrated Cat can be the better keeper if it solves a role your roster lacks and leaves more Cat Food or Rare Tickets for a favorable opportunity.
Choose the correct version before you begin
Install the language version you intend to keep. PONOS states that English-version data cannot be transferred to other language versions, so selecting a different language later can require starting over. Event rewards, banner menus and the number of opening pulls can also differ by game version and date; do not plan around a fixed number of tickets or a permanently available banner.
Rerolling does not require a physical product, accessory or paid item. You can perform the process with the game’s normal new-save, reset or reinstall options on your device.
Reroll procedure
- Install the intended language edition. Confirm the version and language before investing time in a keeper account.
- Start a new save. Play only the opening content needed to unlock the current starting rewards, tickets and Cat Food. Menus and rewards are live-service elements, so the exact sequence can change.
- Check the available banners. Identify which banner can provide broad early-game coverage. A festival, guaranteed draw or Step Up event may be more valuable than an ordinary random banner, depending on what is currently active.
- Use Rare Tickets as single pulls. Spend them on the banner that gives the strongest realistic chance of adding a useful role to a new roster.
- Handle Cat Food separately. Do not automatically spend Cat Food on isolated random rolls. If a guaranteed 11-draw or Step Up opportunity is available, it is generally the better checkpoint for this resource.
- Evaluate the whole result. Consider campaign coverage, traits, range, survivability, upgrade access, overlap with free units and the resources left after rolling.
- Restart if the account has no useful role. Use the game’s normal reset or reinstall process for your device. Do not assume that an event reward or a particular pull count will return on the next attempt.
- Secure a keeper. Record the account’s Inquiry Code before changing devices, deleting the old save or experimenting with transfers.
Keep a simple note of each attempt’s units and remaining resources. This prevents accidentally discarding a better account because a later pull looked more exciting but covered the same role.

How to spend the opening resources
Rare Tickets
Rare Tickets are single-pull resources. They are appropriate for testing a favorable banner without committing the larger Cat Food reserve. A single pull can improve a new account, but it does not guarantee a particular rarity or role, so judge the result by what it adds to the roster rather than by the animation alone.
Cat Food
Cat Food has a different opportunity cost. Many players save it for a guaranteed 11-draw or a Step Up event because those formats can provide better certainty or value than isolated random rolls. This is a strategy recommendation, not a permanent rule: read the current banner’s terms, guarantees and end time before spending.
If no favorable multi-draw is active, saving Cat Food is often the rational reroll decision. An account with a useful Rare Ticket result and a preserved Cat Food balance may be stronger than an account with a marginal extra roll and no reserve for a guaranteed event.
Why the banner matters more than a static tier list
There is no authoritative, permanent “best reroll Cat.” Banner pools, rates, event rewards, balance changes and player goals change. A unit that is exceptional in one banner may be unavailable in the next, while a less famous unit can be the key missing answer for your current roster. Treat tier lists as context, not as a substitute for checking the live banner and your account’s needs.

Evaluating a fresh account
Start with campaign coverage
Ask whether the result helps you clear a wide range of ordinary story stages. Broadly useful attackers, ranged units and durable options normally provide more early value than a unit that needs a narrow trait matchup or a specialized stage layout. Early progression rewards consistency: a unit that works in many levels saves more time than a spectacular specialist you rarely deploy.
Check range, durability and damage together
Range alone is not enough if the unit cannot survive contact; damage alone is not enough if it must stand in front of every enemy. Examine how the pull fits into a basic formation. A unit that can attack safely behind your frontline, absorb pressure long enough for your damage dealers to work, or reliably remove common threats can stabilize the account while your regular Cats are still being leveled.
Look for useful trait coverage
Campaign stages introduce recurring enemy traits. A pull that addresses several of those traits, or that remains effective even when its special ability is not relevant, has better early-game value than a unit whose entire purpose is one rare matchup. Trait coverage should complement your freely earned units rather than duplicate an answer you already have.

Consider upgrade accessibility
A theoretically powerful unit may be awkward at the start if its useful form, talents or supporting resources are far away. Favor units that perform at practical early levels and do not depend on a mature endgame infrastructure. You are choosing a head start, not a final roster.

Account for overlap with free units
Compare the pull with the guaranteed and story-earned Cats you will receive anyway. Two units with nearly identical range and role may leave a hole elsewhere, while one gacha unit that complements a free wall, attacker or support Cat can make the entire lineup stronger. The question is not “Is this Cat famous?” but “What can this account do that it could not do before the pull?”
When two rerolls are close
Use the following comparison instead of relying on rarity or a single name. Score each account by the role it fills today and the options it preserves for later.
| Comparison point | What to ask | Why it matters early |
|---|---|---|
| Campaign coverage | Does the roster work across ordinary story stages? | General-purpose units reduce the number of hard walls while you build fundamentals. |
| Trait coverage | Does either account answer common enemy traits that the other cannot? | Missing counters can make specific chapters disproportionately difficult. |
| Range and survivability | Can the unit contribute without dying immediately? | Reliable positioning is valuable before levels and treasures are developed. |
| Upgrade accessibility | Can you use the unit effectively with early resources? | A unit that needs distant upgrades may not improve the opening as much as its reputation suggests. |
| Overlap with free units | Does the pull add a new function or duplicate an existing one? | Complementary roles produce a more flexible formation. |
| Resources remaining | How much Cat Food and how many Rare Tickets remain? | A reserve lets you target a guaranteed or otherwise favorable future draw. |
When the scores are similar, favor the account with broader coverage and more remaining resources. Do not discard a practical account merely because another reroll has a more recognizable name.

What to do after you keep an account
Build the foundation before chasing more pulls
Early progress is shaped by more than gacha luck. Put Empire of Cats treasures, User Rank and story unlocks near the top of your plan. Treasures improve the performance of your wider roster, User Rank opens progression benefits, and story completion unlocks systems and resources that make later stages easier.
- Level the dependable Cats you can deploy repeatedly, not only the new gacha unit.
- Collect and improve Empire of Cats treasures instead of treating them as optional collectibles.
- Advance the story far enough to unlock the systems and rewards that expand your options.
- Use the new unit where it solves a real stage problem, then continue strengthening the rest of the formation.
- Keep Cat Food available for a banner with clearly stated guaranteed or Step Up value.
Do not reroll around one difficult stage
A temporary wall does not automatically mean the account is bad. Early stages are also affected by treasure completion, Cat levels, worker-cat economy and the free units you have unlocked. If your roster has a dependable role, broad coverage and a sensible progression path, continued investment is usually more efficient than returning to the opening screen.
Stopping rules: when to stop rerolling
Stop when the account can progress comfortably and the pull fills a genuine role. A practical stopping checklist is:
- You have at least one unit that contributes across ordinary campaign stages.
- Your opening roster has a workable mix of frontline, damage and/or ranged support rather than one isolated specialist.
- The result offers useful trait coverage or otherwise remains effective when no special trait is present.
- The unit can be leveled and deployed with early resources.
- The gacha pull complements, rather than simply duplicates, your guaranteed and freely earned Cats.
- You still have a reasonable Cat Food or Rare Ticket reserve for a better-value opportunity.
Chasing a perfect roster can cost more time than it saves. Story progress, treasures, levels and free units influence early performance so strongly that a merely good account that you start developing is often better than an endlessly rerolled account with no progress.

Record the Inquiry Code
Once you decide to keep a save, record its Inquiry Code. Store it somewhere you can access without relying on the old device. Do this before testing a transfer, reinstalling the game or making other changes that could remove local data.

The official warning reads: “The Transfer Code and Confirmation Code displayed after your Data Transfer begins will be required to resume the transfer: DO NOT LOSE THIS INFORMATION.” Keep both codes available until the transfer is complete.
If a transfer is halted, PONOS says the previous codes cannot be reused. Start carefully, follow the prompts on both devices and do not assume that generating another code will restore an interrupted attempt.
Understand what happens to the old device
After data is retrieved, the old-device save is reset and can no longer be used there. Treat the transfer as a move, not a duplication process. Confirm that the intended device and language version are ready before retrieving the data.

Common reroll mistakes and fixes
Spending Cat Food on the first random roll
Problem: the account loses its reserve before a guaranteed or Step Up opportunity appears.
Fix: use Rare Tickets for single pulls and hold Cat Food unless the current banner’s terms make the multi-draw worthwhile.
Chasing a name instead of a role
Problem: the account has a celebrated specialist but still lacks a reliable campaign answer.
Fix: compare range, survivability, trait coverage, upgrade access and overlap with free units.
Assuming every reroll has the same opening rewards
Problem: a guide or video promises a fixed number of pulls that the current version does not provide.
Fix: use only the rewards and banners displayed in your current game, and avoid treating event timing as permanent.
Deleting a keeper without recording its details
Problem: a good local save is lost during a reinstall or device change.
Fix: record the Inquiry Code first and preserve the one-time Transfer and Confirmation Codes during an actual transfer.
Changing language after investing time
Problem: the desired save cannot be moved to the new language edition.
Fix: choose the intended language before rerolling and keep the account in that edition.
Rerolling after every early difficulty
Problem: time is spent restarting instead of improving treasures, levels and story progress.
Fix: apply the stopping checklist. Restart only when the roster lacks a practical role, not merely because one stage is inconvenient.
Quick Recap
Quick decision framework
- Is the unit broadly useful? If no, keep rolling unless the account has an unusually strong complementary roster.
- Does it add range, durability, damage or trait coverage you do not already have? If yes, its practical value rises.
- Can you level and deploy it now? If no, discount its immediate impact.
- Does the account retain resources for a favorable banner? If yes, that flexibility can outweigh a small difference in unit reputation.
- Can you progress while building treasures and User Rank? If yes, stop rerolling and play.
Rerolling succeeds when it gives you a useful starting direction, not when it produces a mathematically perfect collection. Secure the save, develop the fundamentals and let future banners fill the gaps that remain.
