To restart Pokémon Brilliant Diamond on Nintendo Switch, delete its save data in the console’s System Settings. The Switch game is titled Pokémon Brilliant Diamond; deleting the save is permanent, so check the selected user before confirming.
Delete the save data to start over
- From the HOME Menu, open System Settings.
- Select Data Management, then Delete Save Data.
- Choose Pokémon Brilliant Diamond.
- Select the user whose save you want to remove. The menu also offers an option to delete save data for the software for all users, so verify the scope before proceeding.
- Choose Delete Save Data and confirm. Nintendo warns that once deleted, save data cannot be recovered. See Nintendo’s instructions for managing or deleting Switch save data.
- Return to the HOME Menu and launch Pokémon Brilliant Diamond to begin a new save.
What deleting the save does—and does not do
Deleting save data is separate from deleting, archiving, or reinstalling the game software. If your goal is to reset your progress, use Delete Save Data; removing the software does not itself reset the save. Nintendo explains the distinction in its software management instructions.
The save is stored in the console’s internal memory and cannot be saved or moved to a microSD card. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond also does not support Save Data Cloud backup, according to Nintendo’s game listing. Treat the deletion as irreversible rather than expecting to restore the save from a cloud backup.
