There is no resurrection command documented in EA’s official Sims 4 cheat FAQ. Players report a shortcut using traits.remove_trait on a ghost, but it is unverified by EA and the trait identifier depends on the Sim’s cause of death. The dependable official fallback is to feed the ghost Ambrosia.
Can you resurrect a Sim with a cheat?
EA’s cheat FAQ explains how to open the console on PC and Mac, but does not list a dedicated resurrection cheat. On those platforms, press Ctrl + Shift + C in-game, enter a code and press Enter. EA’s instructions are available in its cheat FAQ.
Players have reported trying traits.remove_trait followed by the ghost trait associated with the Sim’s cause of death. This is a community-reported, unverified shortcut—not a guaranteed universal command. EA does not provide a complete, validated list of the trait identifiers in the cited guidance, and the relevant trait can vary by cause of death. Do not assume one identifier will work for every ghost.
Make sure the ghost is playable first
If the ghost is freeroaming rather than playable, use Add Ghost to Household on its urn or tombstone. This lets you control the ghost, but does not bring the Sim back to life. EA explains the distinction in its ghost guide.

Use Ambrosia to bring the ghost back
Ambrosia is EA’s documented resurrection method and does not have a pack requirement stated in EA’s guide. The ghost must eat the prepared dish; EA says it then returns to the living world. The requirements are level 10 in both Cooking and Gourmet Cooking, an Angelfish, a Death Flower, and a Potion of Youth. Ingredients can be in the Sim’s personal inventory or refrigerator. - Reach level 10 in Cooking and Gourmet Cooking.
- Gather an Angelfish, a Death Flower, and a Potion of Youth.
- Prepare Ambrosia.
- Have the ghost eat it to return to life.

Resurrection is not the same as preventing death or rebirth
Adding a ghost to the household changes whether you can control it, not whether it is alive. Likewise, EA describes Rebirth as an option for eligible Sims who complete the Dreams Fulfilled tier in their Soul’s Journey; it is separate from a resurrection cheat.
