To build a relationship, talk with villagers and use the available relationship systems; at three hearts, look for a Relationship Story the following day. Dating is a separate activity that unlocks when a relationship is strong enough. Five-heart progression and Move In are reported by secondary guides, not confirmed as Version 1.0 rules by the official announcement.
Who can you romance in Starsand Island?
The official Starsand Island Steam announcement for Version 1.0 says that all 14 romanceable NPCs have new and expanded dating activities. It does not publish a named roster, so the official total does not identify which characters remain romanceable in the full release.
There is a count conflict in secondary sources: Early Access guides and a community wiki list 15 Bond characters—Solara, Zerine, Pastelle, Serena, Stella, Lunelle, Neona, Alex, Delphin, Graminova, Zephyria, Aurelis, Loren, Sylvain, and Youfang. The wiki notes that the official count does not establish which name differs from that list. Treat those names as a reported Early Access roster, not a confirmed Version 1.0 list.
How to build a relationship
Secondary guides describe daily conversation, gifts, bulletin requests, returning lost items, and quests as ways to improve affection. They also report a five-heart progression for Bond characters. The detailed point values and optimized timelines are not established as official Version 1.0 mechanics, so use the in-game relationship display rather than relying on an exact point formula.

Use gifts carefully
Preferences vary by character. An updated gift guide gives Early Access examples such as Diamond for Alex, Strawberry Mousse and Tiramisu for Solara, and a broad preference for crops and seeds for Graminova. Its gift verification is explicitly Early Access-scoped, so check the character’s current in-game preference record before spending rare or valuable items.
How to unlock Relationship Stories
- Build the relationship with a character until it reaches three hearts.
- Check your mailbox the following day. You may receive a letter that unlocks a Relationship Story.
- If no letter appears, visit a familiar place; a special quest may trigger there instead.
The official announcement distinguishes Relationship Stories from Dating. Existing Early Access saves that had already reached three hearts were also eligible to unlock the stories without restarting.
How Dating works in Version 1.0
Dating lets you invite a character out to spend time together, and it becomes available once the relationship is strong enough. The official announcement does not specify a precise heart threshold or a character-by-character schedule. Its examples of expanded activities are picnics, arcade games, and flying kites by the seaside.
No complete Version 1.0 table of preferred date locations is established in the reviewed sources. Check the current game for the options available with each character instead of assuming every NPC shares the same activity or location preference.

Move In and the relationship endpoint
A secondary romance guide reports that reaching five hearts can lead to a Move In invitation for Bond characters. It presents Move In as a marriage-like relationship milestone. The official Version 1.0 announcement confirms Dating and Relationship Stories but does not specify the Move In threshold or describe what follows it, so treat the five-heart detail as guide-reported rather than an official rule.

What is confirmed—and what remains unclear
- Confirmed for Version 1.0: the official announcement states there are 14 romanceable NPCs, all with new and expanded dating activities.
- Confirmed story trigger: at three hearts, check the mailbox the next day for a possible letter, or visit a familiar place in case a special quest triggers.
- Not settled by the official announcement: the complete named roster, the exact Dating threshold, individual date preferences, and the Move In requirements.
- Use older advice cautiously: character gift examples and detailed progression claims in secondary guides are Early Access-scoped or guide-reported.
