There is no single best Honda Civic tune for every road race in Gran Turismo 7. First choose the exact Civic in your Garage and note the event’s track, PP limit, tire rules, and race length. Then tune the car to meet those conditions and refine it with repeatable laps. The steps below provide a practical method, not a tested numerical setup sheet.
Choose the Civic and race you are tuning for
“Honda Civic” can mean different cars in GT7, and their parts and starting performance are not interchangeable. The official car list describes the Garage RCR Civic as based on a 1992 EG Honda Civic, with a PANDEM wide-body kit and a carbon-fiber hood inspired by a J’s Racing design. See the official Garage RCR Civic listing.

The FL5 Type R ’22 is another option. GTPlus lists its unmodified in-game specification as 325 bhp, 1,430 kg, and 528.75 PP (accessed 2026); these are game-database figures, not real-world specifications. View the GTPlus FL5 listing.

#1 Best Overall
- PlayStation compatible: Officially licensed for PS5 and PS4 consoles. Also works on Windows PC
- 5 Nm Direct Drive servo motor: Custom-designed in Germany for sim racing providing linear, consistent performance with patented FluxBarrier technology to improve motor efficiency and smoothness
- Passively cooled base: Housing is made from aluminum (passive heat sink, core structural component) with composite end caps
- Steering wheel designed by Polyphony Digital: Tactile rubber grip with OLED display and diffused RevLED strip, compact 280 mm diameter, optimized for the PlayStation interface
- Four 5-way directional sticks: Assigned to GT7's rapid-access adjustments for traction control, brake balance, torque split, and fuel mapping
- Car: the exact Civic model and year shown in your Garage.
- Track: note the tight corners, elevation changes, and longest straight.
- PP ceiling: record the event limit and your car’s current PP.
- Tires: check which compounds are allowed and whether the event restricts your choice.
- Race length: decide whether the priority is a short sprint or consistency over a longer race.
These details determine whether adding power, reducing weight, or prioritizing tire choice and handling is useful. A build that fits one event may not suit another.
Build a compliant baseline in a useful order
Change one category at a time, keeping a note of the PP and lap behavior after each change. This makes it easier to identify what helped and to restore a previous setting if the car becomes harder to drive.

- Meet the tire rules first. Select an allowed compound before spending PP elsewhere. Tire choice affects how the car behaves and must remain legal for the event.
- Approach the PP limit with power and weight changes. Add or reduce performance in small steps, checking the displayed PP after each change. Do not assume that the highest possible PP produces the best race result: a car that is difficult to drive consistently may lose time.
- Adjust suspension and differential response. Make measured changes rather than changing several settings at once. Keep the settings that make the car predictable through the kinds of corners on your circuit.
- Use adjustable aero only if the selected Civic supports it. Do not assume that every Civic variant has the same aerodynamic parts or adjustment range. If aero settings are available, tune them for the track rather than copying settings from another model.
- Set gearing for the circuit. Consider the longest straight and whether the car reaches its useful speed there. Gearing that suits one layout may be poorly matched to another.
The available sources do not establish a universal set of suspension, differential, aero, or gearing numbers for a Civic. Use the game’s available adjustments on your selected car and evaluate them against the event instead of treating an unrelated tune as a specification sheet.
Test the setup and make controlled changes
Run repeatable laps on the target circuit with the same car, tires, and event conditions. Record lap times and note where the car is difficult to control; change one setting or part at a time, then repeat the run. This will not prove a setup is best for every driver, but it gives you a clearer basis for deciding whether a change helped.

- Find your line. Whether you're a racer, collector, tuner, designer, photographer or arcade fan - immerse yourself in the facets of automotive culture that matter most to you.
- Connect and compete. Join an international community of drivers to share race strategies, tuning tips, livery designs and photos, before taking to the track to go head-to-head.
- If a change improves one corner but harms another, consider whether it suits the whole circuit and race rather than judging it by one moment.
- For a short event, prioritize a setup you can drive consistently at race pace. For a longer event, assess the car over the full race rather than relying on one strong lap.
- Keep separate setups for different race conditions. The community tuning guide recommends maintaining distinct setups rather than expecting one tune to cover every event. Read the community tuning guide.
How to use community tunes without copying the wrong car
A community tune is useful as a reference only when its car and target resemble yours. For example, DJ Thommo T’s video describes a 600 PP setup for the FK2 Type R ’15, made for GT7 update 1.35. It includes custom aero and wheel selections, and the creator says it is not the quickest tune. That is an example for the FK2—not a verified setup for the FL5 Type R ’22 or the Garage RCR Civic. View the FK2 600 PP tune.
Before adapting any shared setup, compare its exact Civic variant, PP target, tires, adjustable parts, circuit, and race length with your own event. If those conditions differ, treat the tune as inspiration rather than a set of values to transplant.

Keep version and platform details in perspective
GT7 updates can change how a car behaves, so an older community setup may not feel the same in a later version. The official version 1.65 notice identifies Power Pack as paid DLC for PS5 only; it does not make that DLC a prerequisite for tuning a Civic. Read the official GT7 update notice.
