You don’t download Discord as a standalone Xbox app. Instead, link your Discord and Xbox accounts, then join Discord voice chat from the console or transfer a voice call from Discord on another device. The steps below follow Discord’s official instructions, updated May 27, 2026.
Link your Discord and Xbox accounts
You can start the linking process from either the Xbox console or Discord. Use the route that matches the device you have open.
Link from Xbox
- Sign in to the Xbox account you want to connect.
- Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
- Go to Profile & System > Settings > Account > Linked social accounts.
- Under Not Linked, select the Discord tile, choose Link, and follow the on-screen prompts.
Link from Discord on desktop or mobile
- In Discord, open User Settings > Connections.
- Select the Xbox icon and continue through the authorization flow.
- Sign in with the Microsoft account for the Xbox account you want to link, then authorize the connection.
A Discord account can be linked to one Xbox account at a time. To connect a different Xbox account, remove the existing link first. If you linked the accounts before Discord Voice was available, you may need to unlink and link them again to enable voice features. See Discord’s Discord and Xbox Connection FAQ.
Join Discord voice chat on Xbox
Once the accounts are linked, sign in to the linked Xbox account and use the console guide:
