To set up the Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike, connect its supplied USB cable to your computer, attach the extension adapter and LIGHTSPEED receiver, switch on the mouse, and install Logitech G HUB from logitechG.com/GHUB. Once G HUB detects the mouse, open HITS Configuration to adjust click actuation, Rapid Trigger, and Click Haptics. Keep the receiver within 20 cm of the mouse and more than 2 m from strong 2.4 GHz interference sources for the most reliable connection.
What you need before starting
The Superstrike is designed to work wirelessly through its supplied LIGHTSPEED receiver, but the first setup uses the included cable and extension adapter. Have the following ready:

- Plug the supplied USB charging/data cable into a USB port on your computer.
- Connect the extension adapter to the computer end of that cable.
- Make sure the LIGHTSPEED receiver is installed in the extension adapter. The receiver is supplied there from the box.
- Place the receiver on your desk so it is close to the mouse, rather than leaving it behind a desktop tower or under a desk.
- Move the mouse power switch to the on position.
- Move the mouse and click a button to confirm that the computer responds.
The cable can charge the mouse while it is connected. It also provides the data connection used during setup. If you want to use the receiver wirelessly after setup, leave the receiver connected to the extension adapter and keep the cable positioned so the adapter sits near the mouse.

Install Logitech G HUB and detect the Superstrike
Download the current Logitech G HUB software from logitechG.com/GHUB. Logitech identifies G HUB as the software for configuring the Superstrike’s actuation point, Rapid Trigger, DPI, and report rate. Logitech Gaming Software is legacy software for newer devices, so use G HUB rather than trying to configure this mouse in the older application.
- Install G HUB and launch it.
- Leave the receiver and extension adapter connected to the computer and keep the mouse switched on.
- Wait for the Superstrike to appear in G HUB’s device list.
- Select the mouse, then open HITS Configuration.
If G HUB does not show the mouse, close the application, confirm the receiver and cable connections, switch the mouse off and on again, and relaunch G HUB. The receiver must be connected through the extension adapter for this setup path.
Place the receiver for a stable wireless connection
Receiver position matters more than many users expect. Logitech’s setup guide recommends using the mouse within 20 cm of the receiver and keeping the receiver more than 2 m from sources of 2.4 GHz interference, such as Wi-Fi routers.
- Keep the extension adapter on the desktop beside the mouse area.
- Avoid placing it behind a metal-sided PC case, inside a cabinet, or beneath the desk.
- Move it away from a nearby Wi-Fi router and other powerful 2.4 GHz transmitters.
- If the pointer stutters or disconnects, test with the receiver closer than 20 cm before changing software settings.
These distances are Logitech’s recommended conditions for optimal wireless performance, not a promise that every room will behave identically. Other wireless devices, furniture, and the computer’s location can affect the result.
Understand the Superstrike’s status LEDs
| LED behavior | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Flashing red | The battery has reached 15% charge. | Connect the supplied USB charging/data cable and charge the mouse. |
| Pulsing green while connected by cable | The mouse is charging. | Leave the cable connected until you have enough charge for your next wireless session. |
A flashing-red warning is a charge reminder, not an indication that the receiver has failed. A pulsing green LED while the cable is attached confirms the charging state described in Logitech’s guide.
Configure HITS in G HUB
After G HUB detects the mouse, choose HITS Configuration. HITS controls the physical-feeling behavior of the Superstrike’s clicks. The three controls have different jobs:

| Control | Available levels | Effect of moving to a lower value | Effect of moving to a higher value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Actuation Point | 10 steps | Clicks become more sensitive and activate with less travel. | Clicks require a more deliberate press. |
| Rapid Trigger | 5 steps | The click releases faster as your finger lifts. | The release behavior is less aggressive. |
| Click Haptics | 6 strength values, including 0 (off) | Less or no haptic feedback; level 0 disables it. | Stronger tactile feedback, with higher power consumption. |
Actuation Point determines when a press registers. Rapid Trigger determines how quickly the button can reset as you release it. Click Haptics changes the strength of the feedback you feel when clicking; it does not replace the actuation or reset controls.
Choose a starting actuation point
Start at a moderate Actuation Point rather than immediately selecting the most sensitive setting. Play a familiar game or use a repeatable click test, then lower the value one step at a time if you want clicks to register earlier. Raise it if you trigger clicks accidentally while resting your finger on a button.
The ten-step range exists because hand position, grip, and tolerance for accidental clicks differ. Logitech’s guide defines what the control changes but does not prescribe one universal value.
Tune Rapid Trigger for release behavior
Use Rapid Trigger when the speed at which a click resets matters to your play style. Begin with a middle setting, test repeated presses in a familiar game, and change only one step between tests. A lower value releases the click faster as your finger lifts, which can feel more immediate but may also make the button feel less forgiving if your finger movement is inconsistent.
Set Click Haptics without wasting battery
Choose a haptic strength that gives you useful feedback without making the click distracting. Logitech states that higher Click Haptics strength values consume more power and reduce battery life. Set Click Haptics to 0 when battery conservation is more important than tactile feedback, then increase it later if you prefer a stronger click sensation.
A practical tuning workflow
- Open G HUB and select the Superstrike.
- Enter HITS Configuration.
- Set Actuation Point and Rapid Trigger to moderate values.
- Choose Click Haptics 0 or a low strength if you are starting with maximum battery economy.
- Play a familiar game for several minutes using the same grip and sensitivity you normally use.
- Change one control by one step, then repeat the same test.
- Keep the setting only if it improves control without causing accidental clicks or missed releases.
This method separates the effects of the three controls. Changing all of them at once makes it difficult to tell whether a perceived improvement came from actuation, release timing, or haptic feedback.

Import or share a HITS Code
G HUB can import a shared player HITS Code and export your own configuration. Importing is useful when another player gives you a setup to try, while exporting lets you preserve or share your current combination of Actuation Point, Rapid Trigger, and Click Haptics.
- Open the Superstrike in G HUB and go to HITS Configuration.
- Use the HITS Code import option when you have a code from another player.
- Check each resulting control value before testing it in-game.
- Use the export option to create a code for your own configuration.
A shared code is a starting point, not a guarantee that the same settings will suit your grip or tolerance for accidental clicks.
Use the included accessories
Grip tape
Grip tape is optional. If you apply it, clean and prepare the mouse surface with the supplied surface-preparation cloth first. Apply the tape only after deciding where your fingers naturally rest, because repositioning adhesive pieces can reduce the quality of the fit.

The box includes an optional POWERPLAY aperture door with a foot. If you do not need that door installed, the receiver can be stored inside the mouse by removing the POWERPLAY aperture door. This is useful when transporting the mouse and receiver together, but the receiver must be returned to the extension adapter before using the normal wireless setup.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Charging and cable replacement
Connect the supplied cable whenever the LED flashes red at 15% charge. A pulsing green LED indicates that charging is in progress over the cable. Because the cable is both a charging and data cable, keep it available even if you normally play wirelessly.
If the supplied cable is missing or damaged, the setup materials directly establish only the need for a compatible USB charging/data cable. A cable that charges but does not carry data may not provide the same setup path, so use a cable that supports both functions.

Troubleshoot connection and software problems
The mouse does not appear in G HUB
- Confirm that the USB cable is plugged into the computer.
- Confirm that the extension adapter is attached to the cable.
- Confirm that the LIGHTSPEED receiver is seated in the extension adapter.
- Switch the mouse on.
- Close and reopen current G HUB.
- Do not rely on Logitech Gaming Software for this newer device; Logitech identifies G HUB as the current configuration software.
The cursor stutters or the connection drops
- Move the receiver within 20 cm of the mouse.
- Move the receiver more than 2 m from a Wi-Fi router or another strong 2.4 GHz source.
- Keep the adapter in open view on the desk instead of behind the PC or under furniture.
- Retest before changing HITS settings; actuation and haptic controls do not correct radio interference.
The mouse stops during play
Check the LED first. A flashing red LED means the battery is at 15% charge, so connect the cable and look for the pulsing green charging indication. If the LED is not warning about charge, recheck the receiver, extension adapter, cable, and mouse power switch.
The clicks feel too sensitive
Raise the Actuation Point one step and test again. If the problem is that a click remains active until your finger lifts farther than you want, adjust Rapid Trigger separately. Make one change at a time so you can identify which control solved the issue.
The haptics drain the battery too quickly
Lower Click Haptics strength or set it to 0. Logitech specifically warns that stronger haptics consume more power and reduce battery life. This adjustment does not require changing Actuation Point or Rapid Trigger.
What the setup tells you about the mouse
The Superstrike’s defining setup difference is that click behavior is configurable in software rather than fixed at one feel. Logitech’s HITS guide describes the PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE as its first mouse with a fully customizable click experience. The practical benefit is control over when a click activates, how quickly it resets, and how much haptic feedback you receive.
Logitech’s product page, accessed in 2026, claims up to 30 ms of click-latency reduction. That is a manufacturer claim, so treat it as product-page performance positioning rather than a result established by an independent test in this setup guide.
