Set a personal respawn point in the End (Java Edition)
- Enter the End and stand at the location where you want your personal respawn point.
- Open chat and enter
/spawnpoint. - Press Enter to run the command. If it is unavailable, check that commands are enabled in your single-player world or that you have permission to use commands on the server.
The Java snapshot notes dated March 18, 2020 state that /spawnpoint supports being run in any dimension. They establish the cross-dimension behavior; they do not guarantee a safe landing at every chosen location.
/spawnpoint and /setworldspawn do different jobs

What about beds, respawn anchors, and Bedrock?
Minecraft’s official guide describes beds as the way to set a respawn point in the Overworld and charged respawn anchors as the option for the Nether; it does not present either block as an End respawn method. For the Java End, use /spawnpoint. Minecraft’s survival guide covers the dimension-specific blocks.

Do not assume the Java procedure also works in Bedrock Edition. The available Bedrock command reference documents /setworldspawn, including its cheats and Game Directors permission requirements, but does not establish whether a player can set an individual respawn point in the End. Microsoft’s Bedrock reference describes the world-spawn command, not an individual End respawn command.

If the command does not work
- Single-player Java world: command access can be enabled with “Allow Commands” when creating a world. The Minecraft command guide explains command access.
- Multiplayer server: you may need the server’s required command permissions. The exact permission setup can vary by server.
- Bedrock Edition: the cited Bedrock reference establishes requirements for
/setworldspawn, not for a personal End/spawnpoint. Avoid treating those commands as interchangeable.
