The Veilwater Basin Ancient Spire is in Lake Heartblood, north of Imperial Gardens and northwest of Dragondream Lake. Reach it by fast-travelling to the Albaneve Summits Ancient Spire, gliding west through the Passage to Veilwater Basin, following the coast northwest, and entering the islands from the west. Wooden scaffolding provides the dependable entrance. Inside, solve four progression locks—a six-lever door, a three-button door, a hidden arrow switch, and a long underwater switch—then commune with the Flame on the roof to unlock the spire as a fast-travel point.
What should I bring to the Veilwater Basin Ancient Spire?
Prepare for late-game traversal and combat rather than a simple sightseeing run. The recommended setup is around character level 35 with Flame level 8; enemies in the spire range from level 35 to 45. Those figures are guide recommendations and enemy levels, not an official entry requirement.

Swimming and diving are available to every Flameborn in the Wake of the Water update; they do not require a separate unlock. The update introduced Veilwater Basin, swimming, diving, limited oxygen and underwater interactions on November 10, 2025. The full-release announcement dated October 14, 2026 states that the complete map is accessible and that the Veilwater Basin Hollow Hall is open.
How do I reach the Ancient Spire and enter it?
From the Albaneve Summits Ancient Spire, glide west through the Passage to Veilwater Basin. Once you reach Lake Heartblood, follow the shoreline northwest toward the island group. Approach the western side of the spire, climb the wooden scaffolding and enter through the opening above.

A submerged doorway is an alternate entry or exit, but the west scaffolding is the more reliable approach. It exposes you to fewer underwater traversal demands and is the practical choice when you intend to finish at the pink teleporter. The entrance corridor is a trap course, not a progression puzzle.

How do I get through the entrance trap course?
Move through the opening corridor by timing hazards rather than searching for a code. Wall glyphs here are decorative and do not unlock anything.
- Weave around the moving lightning orbs.
- Cross each spike floor while its spikes are retracted.
- Jump over the vases blocking the path.
- Climb the metal grid to reach the next section.
After the fireball hallway, you reach the room containing the first actual lock.

What is the six-lever solution in Enshrouded?
Turn on the three levers beneath smooth gold pillars and leave the three levers beneath plain brick pillars off. The six states must match the finishes of the pillars; when they do, the game displays “Door Unlocked” and opens the teleporter door.
- Southwest lever: directly left of the entrance. It is already lit; leave it on.
- Southernmost lever: to the right as you enter. Turn it on.
- Northwest lever: opposite the door on the left. Turn it on.
- Other three levers: they stand under plain brick pillars. Keep them off.
If the teleporter remains closed, inspect every indicator rather than pulling levers at random: one gold-pillar lever may have been switched off, or one brick-pillar lever may have been switched on.

The buttons are distributed across the next trap sequence. Press one in the spike hallway, one in the lightning room and one below the upper grapple route. Three lamps above the exit light when all three have been activated.

- Spike hallway: cross the spikes and press the button on the left wall.
- Lightning room: use the right-hand doorway from the hallway, then press the button in the room’s southwest corner.
- Lower grapple gap: climb the metal grate near the central spikes. From the upper walkway, look below the grapple gap, glide down and press the third button, then climb back up.
With the lamps lit, grapple across the gap, time your movement past the swinging axes and take the next teleporter.
How do I hit the hidden arrow switch?
The concealed switch is reached by combining a raised floor plate with a carefully timed shot. It is on the floor after the three-button teleporter, beyond the staircase and lightning-orb hall.
- Go left past the staircase and continue through the lightning-orb hallway.
- Enter the room containing the raised floor plate.
- Open the double doors before attempting the shot.
- Stand on the plate. It reveals a narrow firing gap.
- Fire an arrow through the gap at the hidden switch. Wait between spike cycles, and aim slightly above the switch’s center to compensate for arrow drop.
A successful hit disables the electric traps and opens the door at the top of the stairs. If the arrow misses, wait for the next safe spike interval and reactivate the plate before trying again.

How do I survive the underwater puzzle?
The final lock is a long, linear underwater tunnel. The descent lasts longer than the normal 30-second breath window, so oxygen preparation and stamina management are essential.
- Eat fish or another breath-extending food before entering the pit, and begin with full stamina.
- Dive into the nearby floor opening. Ignore the locked underwater door during the descent.
- Sprint-swim past the spikes until you reach the glowing switch beside the air bubbles.
- Press the switch, then pause at the bubbles. They restore another 30 seconds of oxygen and give you a safe point to recover stamina.
- Swim back through the now-active spinning spikes and continue to the final teleporter.
The air-bubble refill is the intended safety margin. Reaching the underwater door before activating the switch does not solve the lock; return to the glowing switch first.

How do I confirm completion and unlock fast travel?
Take the final teleporter to the open-air roof. At the central altar, choose Commune with the Flame. Completion is confirmed by the “New Location Charted! Veilwater Basin” and “Quest Completed! A Lighthouse In Sunless Seas” banners. The world map then gains the Veilwater Basin Ancient Spire fast-travel node.
No independently measured completion time or statistically verified chest-drop rate has been established for this spire, so treat the run length and loot quality as variable rather than guaranteed values.

The door checks pillar finishes, not a memorized left-to-right sequence. The three levers beneath smooth gold pillars must be on, while the three beneath plain brick pillars must be off.
What happens if I run out of breath in the underwater tunnel?
The tunnel exceeds the normal 30-second breath duration. Enter with oxygen-extending food, reach the glowing switch beside the bubbles and pause there for the additional oxygen before swimming back through the spinning spikes.
