In the Sewers Monitor Room, arrange the six chess plugs according to your run: in the first (A) run, put Pawn, Queen, King on the Pawn-marked wall and Bishop, Rook, Knight opposite. In the second (B) run, put Pawn, Rook, Knight on the Pawn-marked wall and Queen, Bishop, King opposite. Read each wall from left to right while facing it.
Which chess plug order should you use?
The solution changes between the first/A run and second/B run. It depends on the run, not which character you are playing. Find the wall socket marked with a Pawn, then use the matching row below. Each sequence is left to right while you face that wall.
| Run | Pawn-marked wall, left to right | Opposite wall, left to right |
|---|---|---|
| First run / A scenario | Pawn, Queen, King | Bishop, Rook, Knight |
| Second run / B scenario | Pawn, Rook, Knight | Queen, Bishop, King |
Use the Pawn marker rather than descriptions such as “left wall” or “right wall”: those directions can vary depending on where a guide assumes you entered the room. Reference: PowerPyx’s chess plug solution.
Where to find the missing plugs

First verify that you are using the order for the active run, then check that you oriented both sequences by facing each wall and reading left to right. The available guides do not establish one definitive cause for every failed attempt, so these checks are the supported first steps.
