To solve the Reliquary of Compassion in Ghost of Yōtei, free the four frozen fox statues with Fire Arrows, then turn every statue toward the central pillar. From the untouched starting arrangement, rotate front-left once, back-left twice, front-left once, front-right twice, and back-right twice.
Where to find the Reliquary of Compassion
Travel to Teshio Ridge and follow the route toward Chilled Peak Shrine. Near the summit, look for the frozen lake and take the branch that passes through a narrow gap to the reliquary. Walkthroughs differ on whether the route is on the lake’s left or right, so use the gap and the reliquary itself as landmarks rather than relying on a left-or-right direction.

How to free the frozen statues
The four fox statues are frozen in snow. Equip the upgraded Hankyu bow and shoot Fire Arrows at the coals or bowls at the base of each statue. Walkthroughs report spare arrows near the passage through the gap if you need them.

Statue rotation sequence
Once all four statues can move, turn each one so it faces the reliquary pillar in the center. The following sequence is for the initial, untouched arrangement:

- Rotate the front-left statue once.
- Rotate the back-left statue twice.
- Rotate the front-left statue once more.
- Rotate the front-right statue twice.
- Rotate the back-right statue twice.
If you have already rotated any statue, this sequence may not solve the puzzle from its current state. Save before interacting if you want a straightforward way to reset and try again.
Riddle and reward
The riddle reads: “The mountain took pity on the boy with no home. And lit her fire to keep the boy warm. The wolves gathered around, eyes on the mountain’s hearth.”
