Waifu Curator is an upcoming Steam game from Don Pachi, planned for Q4 2026. It is not available yet. When it launches, the museum’s core loop is to search its halls for scattered collectible anime-style figures, inspect each model, identify its theme, scale and collection, then return it to the matching stand or display. This guide gives you a practical sorting system for that workflow while separating confirmed information from details that have not been published.
What Waifu Curator is—and what you can do today
The Steam listing describes Waifu Curator as a casual, indie, first-person simulation about restoring a disordered museum of collectible scale figures. Its official premise is: “Restore a chaotic waifu museum by finding, sorting, and displaying collectible scale figures.”

The planned release window is Q4 2026, and the listing currently marks the game as not yet available. That means there is no released build from which to quote a player-tested walkthrough, completion time, review consensus or performance benchmark. The organization method below is based on the systems Don Pachi has described, not on an unverified preview build.

Understand the museum’s sorting logic before placing anything
Waifu Curator gives you three primary classification axes: theme, scale and collection. The listing also identifies the model’s material, including plastic, metal, silver, gold and glass. Treat material as useful identifying information, but do not let a material label replace the three placement axes.
| Axis | What it tells you | Examples or warning |
|---|---|---|
| Theme | The subject or style grouping a figure belongs to. | Sports, Gothic and Idol are examples named on the listing. Visual resemblance alone may be misleading. |
| Scale | The physical size category represented by the model. | Ordinary scale figures coexist with advertised life-size 1:1 centerpiece models. |
| Collection | The named set or series that links the figure to related models. | Use the museum guide and model information when a collection is not obvious from appearance. |
| Material | The construction or finish described for the model. | Plastic, metal, silver, gold and glass are listed materials; material is not stated as the primary placement rule. |
A figure can look appropriate for a hall and still be wrong because its scale or collection does not match. Make your decisions in the order the game documents them: establish the theme, confirm the scale, verify the collection, then use material as a final identifying clue.
The complete start-to-finish restoration workflow
1. Search the rooms systematically
Begin by looking through the museum halls for figures that have been scattered from their displays. Work one hall at a time rather than wandering randomly. A consistent sweep reduces the chance that you mistake an unvisited corner for an empty room.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute- Choose one hall and scan its visible floor and display areas.
- Check the hall’s edges and less prominent spaces before moving on.
- Keep a simple external note of which halls you have searched if you are leaving and returning later.
- Move to the next hall only after you have completed the current sweep.
The listing establishes that the figures are found around the museum; it does not publish a fixed spawn pattern or a room-by-room map. Do not assume a model always appears in the same location until the released game proves that it does.
2. Pick up and inspect every model
Do not place a figure immediately just because its silhouette appears to match a nearby display. Pick it up and examine its visual and model information first. Inspection is the point at which you gather the facts needed for all three placement axes.
- Record the apparent theme, such as Sports, Gothic or Idol, without treating the first impression as final.
- Look for the model’s scale information, especially whether it represents a 1:1 life-size centerpiece.
- Read the collection information supplied with the model.
- Note the material—plastic, metal, silver, gold or glass—when it helps distinguish similar figures.
If the released interface presents these details in a panel or overlay, use that information rather than relying on visual guesswork. The exact labels and controls have not been published, so do not assume a particular key or menu path before launch.
3. Consult the museum guide when the destination is unclear
The museum guide is the authoritative fallback described for uncertain placements. Use it after inspection has narrowed the possibilities, not as a substitute for looking at the model information.
- Inspect the figure and identify every classification detail that is available.
- Compare those details with the nearby displays or stands.
- When more than one destination still appears plausible, consult the museum guide.
- Follow the destination the guide identifies, even if another hall looks aesthetically closer.
This prevents a common error: placing a figure according to its character design while overlooking a different collection or scale requirement.

4. Classify on theme, scale and collection
Use a three-part note for each figure: theme / scale / collection. For example, a note might read “Idol / ordinary scale / Collection B.” Do not invent a collection name if the game has not shown one; copy the label exactly as displayed.
Resolve uncertain cases in this order:
- Scale: separate ordinary figures from 1:1 life-size centerpieces.
- Theme: group the figure with the correct subject or style.
- Collection: confirm that the model belongs to the destination’s collection.
- Material: use the material description to distinguish models that remain tied after the first three checks.
The order is a practical way to avoid rework, not a claim that the game exposes a numbered priority list. If the guide gives a different explicit instruction for a particular model, follow the guide.
5. Restore the exhibition hall by hall
Return each model to the matching stand or display after its destination is established. Finish one hall before beginning a detailed arrangement in another. A hall-by-hall approach makes missing figures easier to spot and gives you a clear stopping point.
Recommended Free Tools
- Bring the inspected figure to the destination identified by its classification and the museum guide.
- Place it on the matching stand or display.
- Check the surrounding displays for figures that share the hall’s theme but differ in scale or collection.
- Continue until the hall is orderly, then begin the next hall.
The published description confirms the goal of restoring the exhibition, but it does not specify whether the game provides an automatic completion indicator. Treat a hall as complete only when every discovered model has a confirmed destination and no known display remains empty.
How to compare two figures that look alike
Start with scale, especially 1:1 models
The advertised life-size 1:1 models are the easiest category to mishandle because their visual presence can dominate a room. Separate them from ordinary scale figures before comparing themes. A life-size Idol figure and an ordinary-scale Idol figure may share a theme while requiring different displays.
Do not infer that every large-looking model is 1:1. Use the model information or guide entry that identifies its scale. The listing confirms that 1:1 centerpieces exist, but it does not publish their number, dimensions or exact locations.
Use theme as a grouping clue, not a complete answer
Sports, Gothic and Idol are named examples of themes. A figure’s pose, clothing or color may suggest one of these categories, but appearance is not enough when a collection label or scale conflicts with it. Keep the theme in your notes while you verify the other fields.
Verify collection membership
Collection is the decisive check when two models share a theme and scale. Read the collection information attached to each model and match it to the destination identified by the guide. Never create a new collection category merely because two figures look related.

Use material to break a remaining tie
Plastic, metal, silver, gold and glass are all mentioned in the listing. Material can help you tell similar models apart, but the available description does not say that all models made from the same material belong together. Keep material as a descriptive field unless the game explicitly links it to a display.
A practical record system for your first session
The game’s confirmed workflow does not require a separate spreadsheet, but a short record can prevent repeated inspections when the museum becomes crowded. Use one line per model and copy labels exactly as the game shows them.
Figure: ____________________
Hall found: ________________
Theme: _____________________
Scale: _____________________
Collection: ________________
Material: __________________
Guide destination: __________
Placed: yes / no
Keep the record focused on decisions rather than decoration. You do not need to assign your own rarity ranking, character ranking or aesthetic score because none of those is identified as a placement rule. If you stop mid-session, the “Hall found,” “Guide destination” and “Placed” fields tell you where to resume.

Sorting only by appearance
Symptom: A figure looks perfect on a stand, but the museum remains disordered or another model has no obvious destination.
Recovery: Remove the visual assumption. Reinspect the model, confirm its scale and collection, and use the guide if the destination is still uncertain.
Mixing ordinary scale and 1:1 centerpieces
Symptom: A themed group appears correct, but one display contains a model from the wrong size category.
Recovery: Reclassify every figure in that group by scale first. Move the life-size 1:1 model to the centerpiece destination identified by the guide, then reassess the remaining ordinary-scale figures.
Ignoring collection information
Symptom: Two figures share a theme and apparent size, yet one does not belong with the other.

Recovery: Compare their collection labels. Collection membership overrides a purely visual grouping when the guide identifies a different destination.
Treating material as the main category
Symptom: Plastic or metallic models are grouped together even though their themes or collections differ.
Recovery: Move material to the end of your checklist. Re-sort by scale, theme and collection before using material to distinguish otherwise similar models.

That documentation explains how Workshop can work in a Steam game; it does not confirm Workshop support for Waifu Curator. No cited game-specific source states that players will be able to upload figures, download community displays or publish collections. Treat custom content as a possibility only until Don Pachi announces support and explains its moderation and publishing rules.
If Workshop support is announced, verify three things before relying on it: whether the game accepts new figure models, whether content is ready-to-use or curated, and whether the developer has imposed size, format or approval requirements. None of those Waifu Curator details has been published yet.
What remains unknown before launch
Several practical questions cannot be answered responsibly from the current listing. Keeping these limits visible is better than filling them with guesses.
| Question | Current status |
|---|---|
| Is the game released? | No. The listing marks it as not yet available. |
| When is release? | Q4 2026 is the developer’s listed window; a specific day is not stated. |
| What is the price? | Not stated in the available information. |
| How long does completion take? | No authoritative completion-time figure is published. |
| How many figures or halls are included? | Not stated. |
| Is there a fixed placement map? | Not stated. |
| Does the game support Workshop? | Not confirmed for Waifu Curator. |
| Are there performance benchmarks? | No cited benchmark is available. |
Do not mistake the absence of these details for evidence that the features will not exist. It only means they should be checked against the current store page, developer announcements or the released game before you plan around them.
A first-session plan for launch day
Once Waifu Curator is available, use this sequence to establish a clean museum without repeatedly undoing placements:
- Confirm the current build and controls. Read the release notes and in-game instructions because pre-release information can change.
- Choose one hall. Search it completely before moving elsewhere.
- Inspect every discovered model. Capture theme, scale, collection and material in your notes.
- Separate 1:1 models. Keep life-size centerpiece candidates distinct from ordinary scale figures.
- Match theme and collection. Compare the model information with the destination indicated by the museum guide.
- Place the model. Return it to the matching stand or display.
- Review the hall. Look for an unplaced model or a figure whose scale or collection was never verified.
- Continue hall by hall. Repeat the same process until the museum is orderly.
This plan uses only the actions and classification information publicly associated with the game. It deliberately avoids promising an automatic sorter, a particular inventory system or a completion percentage that has not been documented.
Bottom line for prospective players
Waifu Curator is planned for Q4 2026 and is not playable on Steam yet. Its published restoration loop is straightforward: search the halls, pick up and inspect each figure, use the museum guide when needed, classify by theme, scale and collection, and return every model to the correct display. Separate life-size 1:1 centerpieces from ordinary figures, treat materials as identifying details rather than the main category, and recheck the official listing after launch for prices, controls, Workshop support and final system requirements.
