Roblox supports dark mode on PC, but the steps depend on whether you are using the installed Roblox desktop app or the Roblox website in a browser. Use the instructions for the version you have open.
Turn on dark mode in the Roblox desktop app
In the installed Roblox app, follow this path:
More (…) → Settings → Device preferences → Device level theme → Dark

- Open Roblox and sign in.
- Click More, shown as the three-dot icon (…) in the left navigation panel.
- Select Settings.
- Open Device preferences.
- Find Device level theme.
- Select Dark.
Roblox also offers Light and System. Choose Dark for a fixed dark interface, Light for a fixed light interface, or System to follow your computer’s theme. These are the current menu labels listed in Roblox’s support instructions.

Turn on dark mode on the Roblox website
If you are playing or browsing Roblox through Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, or another desktop browser, use the website’s separate setting:

Settings gear → Settings → Browser preferences → Theme → Dark
- Open the Roblox website and sign in.
- Click the Settings gear in the upper-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Open Browser preferences.
- Find Theme.
- Select Dark.
The browser version also provides System, Light, and Dark. The browser setting does not automatically change the theme of the installed Roblox app, so configure each version separately if you use both.

What to do if Roblox dark mode is missing
Roblox’s app and website use different settings menus, so first check that you are following the correct instructions. In the app, look under Device preferences; on the website, look under Browser preferences.
If the control is still unavailable, try these low-risk steps:

- Close and reopen Roblox or your browser.
- Sign out of Roblox, then sign back in.
- Update the Roblox app or your browser.
- Check the other interface—for example, open Roblox in a browser if the app does not show the option.
- Contact Roblox Support if the setting remains missing.
Some players have reported that theme controls disappeared from particular desktop-app installations, but community reports are anecdotal and do not confirm a Roblox-wide bug. Reinstalling Roblox, changing Windows or macOS colors, or installing an unofficial modified client is not a guaranteed fix. Avoid third-party tools that request your Roblox credentials.
How to switch Roblox back to Light or System
Use the same menu path for the version you are using, then select Light or System instead of Dark:

- Desktop app: More (…) → Settings → Device preferences → Device level theme.
- Browser: Settings gear → Settings → Browser preferences → Theme.
If the interface changes back to light after choosing System, your computer or browser may be using a light theme. Select Dark if you want Roblox to stay dark regardless of the system setting. Changing Windows or macOS to dark mode may help the System option follow that preference, but Roblox does not promise that it will restore a missing theme control.

No—not necessarily. This setting changes the surrounding Roblox app or website interface, such as navigation and settings screens. Individual Roblox experiences control their own graphics, menus, lighting, and colors, so a game may remain bright or use a separate theme.

Roblox Studio uses separate settings
Roblox Studio is a separate creator application, not the player-facing Roblox app. If you are working in Studio, use its own settings search for terms such as “theme” or “dark theme.” See the Roblox Creator Hub Studio setup documentation rather than using the player-app steps above.
Roblox says these theme preferences apply to the device currently being used. If you sign in on another computer, you may need to repeat the setting there.
