To unlock Maurice’s Black Market in Borderlands 4, finish the main campaign and complete the introductory Ultimate Vault Hunter quest, Maurice’s Bounty. To find the machine, check the current weekly location hint, travel to that area, and get close: the machine is difficult to see from a distance and appears on the map when you approach. Its location is shared for the week, but its items vary by player.
How to unlock Maurice’s Black Market
- Complete the Borderlands 4 main campaign.
- Complete Maurice’s Bounty, the introductory Ultimate Vault Hunter quest.

How to find the machine this week
- Make sure the game is connected to the internet so it can show the latest weekly activities.
- Check the current in-game hint or the latest official weekly activity announcement for Maurice’s location. The location changes with the weekly rotation, so an old map pin may no longer be useful.
- Travel to the indicated area and search nearby. Maurice’s machine is nearly invisible until you get close; it then appears on the map.
Gearbox said on August 6, 2026, that weekly activities, including Maurice’s relocation, would be refreshed server-side. Its official weekly activity post says connected players will see the latest batch of activities. If the activity information looks stale, restart the game and check again; Gearbox advised restarting to help an update go through and avoid connection errors.
Where is Maurice’s Black Market on October 8, 2026?
The available official information does not verify the machine’s location for the rotation beginning October 8, 2026. Check the current in-game hint or that week’s official activity announcement rather than relying on a location from an older rotation. The October 1–8 announcement does not establish where the machine moved for the new rotation.

What is shared between players?
During a given weekly rotation, the machine is in the same location for everyone, but its items differ from player to player. You can use a friend’s location information to find the machine, but do not assume their stock will match yours. Gearbox’s August 6, 2026 post describes this shared-location, individual-inventory setup.
Once the main campaign is complete, Gearbox says the Weekly Big Encore Boss and Weekly Wildcard Mission can also be viewed on the Map tab in the ECHO menu.
