Are all Dead Island 2 cosplay skins free?
No. The Til Dawn collection is described as free, but other outfits are available through character packs or separate reward routes. The official support page lists packs for Silver Star Jacob, Cyber Slayer Amy, Gaelic Queen Dani, Jungle Fantasy Ryan, Steel Horse Carla, and Venice Vogue Bruno. Each pack includes a skin for its named Slayer and a weapon usable by any Slayer.
Some owners may have pack entitlements included with their edition or Expansion Pass. PLAION says Gold, Deluxe, and HELL-A Edition owners can access Silver Star Jacob and Cyber Slayer Amy at no additional cost, while Expansion Pass owners can claim Gaelic Queen Dani at no additional cost. Storefront offers and account entitlements can vary, so check the current listing for your platform before claiming or purchasing a pack. On PlayStation, PLAION advises finding the character pack in the store and claiming eligible content; if multiple add-on options appear, select the free option.

Other ways to earn a character skin
Some rewards use a separate account-linked challenge route rather than the story milestone. Deep Silver’s Dead Island 2 rewards page describes linking the game to a Deep Silver Account and completing challenges; its listed example includes a Ryan skin for killing 10 Crusher zombies. Check the live rewards page for current requirements, since reward conditions may change.
The official pages describe these routes but do not establish a complete, current list of every cosplay skin and its unlock condition. For the free Til Dawn skin, the documented route is the “Call the Cavalry” milestone and the Storage Locker’s Cosplay tab.
