Steam’s live listing shows 132 achievements for Age of Mythology: Retold as of October 8, 2026, but totals and requirements can vary by platform and change with updates. Use the achievement page on your own platform as the final checklist, and check the official list before planning around newly released content. This guide groups the work by what you need to do: campaign objectives, repeatable match goals, Gauntlet, add-ons, and co-op.
Spoiler warning: Campaign-specific objectives below can reveal mission details.
Start with the live achievement list for your platform
The Steam achievement list currently displays 132 achievements. That figure is specific to Steam’s live listing, not a guaranteed total for every storefront or a permanent count. The official achievement list organizes requirements across the core game and named content sections, including Arena of the Gods, Immortal Pillars, Heavenly Spear, Gauntlet, New Gods Pack: Demeter, and Blood and Bones.
Before you begin, compare those sources with the achievement page on your own platform. The official page, updated April 21, 2026, includes a preview of Heavenly Spear achievements ahead of its October 30, 2026 release. As of October 8, that release date is still in the future; do not treat previewed requirements as available unless they appear on your platform’s live list.

Older guides may not include the current set. Age of Empires’ February 10, 2026 update announced Gauntlet changes and new achievements, making an up-to-date checklist especially important.
Clear the tutorial and campaign achievements
Begin with the tutorial and campaign. Completing missions naturally earns progression achievements, while some scenarios contain an additional objective beyond finishing the mission. Read each achievement’s wording closely: a mission-completion requirement and a mission-specific side objective are not necessarily the same task.

- Complete the tutorial and the campaign missions named by the achievements on your platform.
- Watch for objectives tied to a particular mission. Examples in the official list include finishing early Fall of the Trident missions and finding the shipwreck in mission 2.
- For a one-time objective, consider making a manual save beforehand if the game allows it. This is a precaution, not a guarantee that an achievement can be retried or that a save will preserve its conditions.
Because mission-specific requirements can spoil scenario details, check the official list or your platform’s achievement description when you reach the relevant campaign section rather than reading every objective in advance.
Track repeatable and cumulative match goals
Not every achievement is awarded for completing a campaign mission. Some ask you to accumulate progress across play, while others must be completed within a particular match. The official list includes examples such as training 10,000 villagers, fully fattening livestock, destroying buildings, winning without building a Farm, using god powers within a time window, and defeating units with named myth units.

Sort your checklist by the exact wording of each condition. In particular, distinguish a cumulative total from a per-match requirement: do not assume progress carries between games unless the achievement says so. Where several goals are compatible, plan to work on them in the same match; where a condition sets a time window or prohibits a building, prioritize that constraint before the match gets underway.
Set aside time for Gauntlet achievements
Gauntlet has its own achievement requirements, so completing the campaign alone will not clear the full list. The official requirements include completing a Labyrinth, reaching level 99, unlocking 13 Legends, and winning final boss nodes under different Legend or Major God conditions. Check the live descriptions for the precise combinations required; do not infer that one successful run satisfies every variant.

These objectives depend on Gauntlet access and progression. If a Gauntlet achievement is part of your completion plan, keep a separate checklist for its unlocks and final-boss conditions instead of leaving the mode until you assume all other achievements are done.

Some listed Gauntlet requirements explicitly involve another player: joining someone to complete Gauntlet nodes and winning a final boss with a co-op partner. Arrange a partner before your last completion session and confirm the current in-game matchmaking and achievement rules. The official list does not establish that a private match, a particular party setup, or a workaround will count, so avoid relying on one without checking the current requirement.

Check add-on requirements and availability
The official list separates achievements into content-specific sections as well as core-game requirements. Review each named section against the content available to you, and mark whether an achievement needs a particular add-on or mode before planning its objective. The official page’s Heavenly Spear preview is not evidence that those achievements are already earnable on October 8, 2026; verify the live platform list after the stated October 30 release.
Steam lists Steam Achievements, single-player, online PvP and co-op, and cross-platform multiplayer as features. Xbox lists the game for Xbox Series X|S and PC. Those storefront feature descriptions do not establish that achievement sets or conditions are identical across platforms, or that cross-save behavior is shared.
Verify unlocks and revisit the list after updates
After a session, check your platform’s achievement page to confirm that each condition registered. If an achievement did not unlock, compare its exact wording with what you completed and check whether it requires a particular mode, match condition, add-on, or co-op partner. Recheck the official and platform lists after major updates: the February 2026 update added achievements, and the official page’s preview of later content shows that the checklist can change again.
The official sources cited here do not establish a reliable current completion-time estimate or a universal missability policy across platforms. For a 100% run, use the live list on your platform as the authoritative checklist rather than assuming an older guide covers every current requirement.
