To unlock the Ancient Ruins in Fields of Mistria, reach floor 80 of the Mines, complete Creating the Void Mass, then finish Breaking the Ruins Seal by offering four items at the floor 80 seal. This opens floors 81–99. It is a separate milestone from opening the Mines entrance in the first place.
How to unlock the Ancient Ruins
- Reach floor 80. Progress through the earlier Mines biomes. Reaching floor 80 starts the quest Creating the Void Mass.
- Make the Void Mass. In the Void Seal room, offer the cauldron five each of Void Stone, Void Powder, Void Herb, and Void Pearl. Completing this quest unlocks Breaking the Ruins Seal. Quest requirements.
- Bring the Ruins Seal offerings. You need one Breath of Flame, one Smoke Moth, one Firesail Fish, and one Obsidian. The seal is on floor 80. Seal quest requirements.
- Offer the items at the seal. Completing Breaking the Ruins Seal opens the Ancient Ruins, floors 81–99.
The quest references identify the required items but do not specify that you must offer them in a particular order. If your current save or a later game update shows different instructions, follow the active quest log and the seal’s in-game prompts.

Opening the Mines is a different milestone
The initial Mines entrance becomes available earlier through story progression and an entrance event. That unlock lets you enter the Mines; it does not open the Ancient Ruins. The Ruins require the later floor 80 seal questline. An independent Mines guide also distinguishes the entrance unlock from later Mines progression.
What happens after you enter the Ancient Ruins?
The Ancient Ruins are the fifth Mines biome and cover floors 81–99. Reaching floor 90 starts a separate quest, Find the Magic Key, which you must complete to proceed to floor 91. Entering the biome therefore does not unlock every floor through 99 at once. Ancient Ruins floors and progression.

These steps are documented in community-maintained wiki.gg quest references rather than an official developer guide. Game patches can change quest instructions, so use the current journal text if it differs from these requirements.
