At launch, players needed Season 1 BlackCell access—either through the BlackCell upgrade or a Vault Edition that included it. Whether new players can still acquire that entitlement in October 2026 is unverified.
What unlocked the Crown Clan Tag?
Activision’s November 14, 2024 Season 1 overview listed the “BlackCell” Clan Tag as a BlackCell reward, showcased in lobbies and Winner’s Circles. Launch-era guides reported that the tag came with Season 1 BlackCell access; it was not earned by completing a match challenge or other gameplay objective.
Those guides also described the Vault Edition as a route to the reward because it included BlackCell access. That is a historical description of the launch entitlement, not confirmation that either purchase route remains available now.
How to equip it
If your account has the qualifying BlackCell entitlement, try these reported menu steps. Labels and routes may have changed in later updates, so use the current in-game Clan Tag setting if it differs.

- Open the Black Ops 6 multiplayer menu.
- Open your player profile, or navigate through Barracks and customization.
- Select Edit Clan Tag or the corresponding Clan Tag setting.
- Choose the BlackCell Clan Tag option if it appears.

Can you still get it in 2026?
Current availability is not established by the available sources. The documented requirement is Season 1 BlackCell access, but launch-era coverage does not confirm whether players can newly purchase that entitlement now or whether prior ownership still unlocks the tag on an account. Check the current in-game store and your account’s BlackCell entitlements before spending money; do not assume a physical copy of the game includes this Season 1 cosmetic.

Where does the tag appear?
Activision documented the tag in lobbies and Winner’s Circles. A launch-era guide also reports appearances on scoreboards, kill feeds, and menus, and says it does not display as an overhead username during a match. The official announcement confirms the first two contexts; the additional placements are secondary-source reporting.
