To unlock the base Gunner Archetype in Metaphor: ReFantazio, complete Neuras’s “Providing a Spark” quest, then raise his Follower bond to Rank 1 and study Gunner. Neuras becomes available after the main quests in Grand Trad, as the party sets out toward Martira.
Unlock the base Gunner Archetype
- Progress through the Grand Trad main quests. Neuras joins the story after this stretch, when the party heads toward Martira. See the Neuras bond guide.
- Complete “Providing a Spark.” This quest opens Neuras’s Follower bond and is part of the Gunner unlock path.
- Raise Neuras’s bond to Rank 1. The base Gunner requires this rank and completion of “Providing a Spark,” according to PC Gamer’s Archetype guide.
- Study Gunner. Archetype study costs MAG. The amount can vary with Follower bond benefits and progression; the available guide does not establish one universal cost. See the study-cost details.
Gunner’s role in battle
Gunner is a ranged physical Archetype focused on piercing damage. Most of its skills require the user to be in the back row, and the base Archetype has several attacks that inflict status effects. These are playstyle details, not extra unlock requirements.
