Earn Pacifist in Modern Warfare 4 by completing Mission 8, “Assassins”, with exactly one enemy kill: the single kill that occurs automatically during the story. Every other enemy must survive. The safest route is to play on Recruit, avoid combat throughout the stealth sections, use the three door codes—5523, 7632, and 9103—and reload a checkpoint immediately if you kill anyone beyond the scripted target.
What is required for the Pacifist achievement?
The condition is simple but strict: finish “Assassins” after only one enemy has been killed. That permitted kill is part of the opening story sequence involving bodyguard Ko and Shin. It is not an optional target, and the achievement fails if you kill a second enemy anywhere in the mission.

Pacifist does not require a particular difficulty. Recruit is recommended because it gives you more room to move past guards without turning a mistake into a failed attempt.
How do I get Pacifist in Modern Warfare 4?
- Launch Mission 8, “Assassins,” on Recruit. You can use mission select if you have already completed the campaign.
- Follow bodyguard Ko through the opening area. The story supplies the one allowed kill, after which Shin dies. Do not shoot, melee, or otherwise eliminate any additional enemy.
- Enter the library’s upstairs service door. Use the keypad code 5523.
- Cross the kitchen without engaging guards. Stay concealed, create distractions when necessary, and take the kitchen exit. Its code is 7632.
- Cross the garden quietly. Keep low, remain outside the sniper’s sightline, and approach the rear of the large statue.
- Enter the bunker. The bunker keypad code is 9103.
- Finish the mission. Continue through the bunker and complete the final door sequence. Pacifist unlocks after the sequence if no second enemy was killed.

How do I avoid accidental kills?
Think of the mission as an evasion sequence rather than a combat encounter. Keep your weapon lowered when possible, use cover and concealment, and let patrols move before crossing exposed spaces. Distractions are safer than firing near a guard, because a shot that kills an enemy—even during an improvised escape—uses up the entire allowance.

- Do not use explosives, vehicle attacks, or environmental hazards if they could kill a guard.

- Watch the sniper’s line in the garden and take the low route around it.
- Pause before opening fire after an alarm. A failed stealth section is recoverable; an extra kill invalidates the run.
What happens if I kill a second enemy?
That attempt is no longer eligible for Pacifist. Reload the most recent checkpoint from before the extra kill, or restart “Assassins” and repeat the route. Checkpoint reloads are the practical recovery method for missed mission conditions, provided the checkpoint predates the fatal kill.
If you are unsure whether a guard died, reload rather than continuing. The achievement is checked when the mission is completed, so finishing the level will not repair an earlier violation.

Can Pacifist and Revenge be done in one run?
No. The achievements require opposite outcomes and cannot be combined. Pacifist permits only the single scripted kill, while Revenge requires killing every enemy after Shin dies and must be completed on Hardened or higher.

A sensible order is Pacifist first on Recruit, then Revenge on Hardened or Veteran. Keeping the runs separate prevents a combat-focused Revenge attempt from invalidating the stealth requirement.

Where does Pacifist fit into 100% campaign completion?
Modern Warfare 4 has 18 campaign achievements or trophies. You can finish the campaign once on a normal difficulty, use mission select to clean up individual objectives such as Pacifist, and then replay the full campaign on Realism after that difficulty becomes available.
Other campaign objectives are independent of Pacifist. Examples include collecting 26 Yellow Supply Crates in “Stranded,” finding 50 notes for Noteworthy, eliminating four mortar operators in “Counter Attack,” and collecting the dog tags in “Escape.” None of those requirements changes the one-kill rule in “Assassins.”

Yes. “Assassins” can be replayed through mission select for cleanup. Select the mission, complete it under the one-kill condition, and let the final sequence finish so the game can award the achievement.

When should the achievement notification appear?
It should trigger after the final door sequence at the end of “Assassins,” not when you enter one of the coded areas. If it does not appear, replay from a checkpoint before any possible extra kill or restart the mission.
Is a non-lethal stealth takedown safe for Pacifist?
The guides’ requirement is that only one enemy is killed, but the safest interpretation is to avoid takedowns unless you can confirm the target survives. Bypassing guards with concealment and distractions removes ambiguity.
