To enter Verso’s Drafts, reach Act 3, unlock Esquie’s diving ability, then travel to the small island beside the bent-building landmark near Lumiere and interact with its portal. PC Gamer says Esquie’s diving ability unlocks at relationship level 6. The area is part of the free Thank You Update; no separate paid DLC purchase is indicated.
What you need before you go
- Act 3: You must have progressed the main story to Act 3.
- Esquie’s diving ability: PC Gamer reports that this ability unlocks when Esquie reaches relationship level 6. PC Gamer’s Verso’s Drafts guide identifies the relationship requirement.
The walkthrough notes that players who have already completed the main game will have met both progression requirements. Expedition33.gg’s walkthrough also confirms that both Act 3 and diving are needed.

How to reach the portal
- Continue the main story until Act 3.
- Raise Esquie’s relationship to level 6 to unlock diving, as reported by PC Gamer.
- Return to the world map and travel to Lumiere.
- Look for the small island beside the bent-building landmark. PC Gamer describes the location as east of Lumiere; the walkthrough points to the bending-building icon and the island next to it.
- Approach the portal on the island and interact with it to enter Verso’s Drafts.
Is Verso’s Drafts paid DLC?
No separate purchase is indicated. Verso’s Drafts is part of the Thank You Update, which Sandfall Interactive described as a free game update. PlayStation Blog said the update was available at no additional cost on PS5. Xbox Wire’s December 11, 2025 announcement describes the update as free, and PlayStation Blog’s December 11, 2025 post confirms no additional cost on PS5. These statements concern the update; you still need the base game to play it.

The cited announcements do not establish a complete current availability list for every platform, so check the store for your platform if you do not see the update. The area is described by Xbox Wire as a storybook adventure connected to young Verso, with additional secrets, weapons, and Pictos; those details do not add further unlock requirements.
