Connect your DualSense to Windows by USB or Bluetooth, then launch the EA game and check its in-game controller settings. The connection itself does not guarantee that every EA game supports controllers—or that features such as haptics and adaptive triggers will work. Check support for the specific game first.
Before you connect: check the game’s controller support
Controller support is determined by the individual game, not simply by whether Windows can connect to the DualSense. EA advises checking whether the game supports external controllers before troubleshooting the connection. Button prompts and available controller features can also vary by title.
If you are playing through Steam, check the game’s Steam store page for its Full or Partial Controller Support listing. That listing is an indicator for the Steam version, not a guarantee that every configuration or feature will work in every EA game. Sony likewise notes that support varies by game: PlayStation’s DualSense PC support guidance.
Connect the DualSense to your PC
Sony lists DualSense USB and Bluetooth connections for Windows 10 (64-bit) and Windows 11. USB is a straightforward way to start; Bluetooth lets you play without a cable but requires pairing.

- PS Remote Play requires Remote Play App connected to Wi-Fi, PS4 or PS5 console with the latest system software and compatible game. A PS4 or PS5 console with a wired connection via a LAN cable is recommended. Version 4.0 of the Remote Play App on iOS and iPadOS or version 4.1 on macOS is required for games to be playable with the controller over Bluetooth.
Option 1: Use a USB cable
- Connect the controller to the PC with a suitable USB cable.
- Continue to the EA app launch steps below, then check whether the game recognizes the controller.
Sony says haptic feedback may require a USB connection on PC, and the controller’s headset jack requires a wired PC connection. Advanced features remain dependent on the game.
Option 2: Pair over Bluetooth
- Make sure the controller is off.
- Hold the Create button and PS button together until the light bar blinks.
- On your PC, turn on Bluetooth and open the available-device list in Windows Bluetooth settings.
- Select the controller from the list to pair it.
Sony says the controller can be paired with only one device at a time in its cited guidance. To use it with a different device, pair it with that device.

Launch the EA game and check its settings
- Open the EA app and sign in.
- Go to Library, select the game, and choose Play.
- Open the game’s settings and check that it recognizes a controller. Confirm that the displayed button prompts match the DualSense.
These are EA’s recommended steps: connect the controller, launch the game from the EA app, then check the in-game prompts. The exact settings menu and available controller options depend on the game.
What to expect from DualSense features
A successful USB or Bluetooth connection does not mean every DualSense feature is supported. Sony says adaptive triggers are available when supported by the game, haptic feedback may require USB on PC, and the features are available in selected PC games. Check the individual game’s documentation or settings rather than assuming a feature will work in every EA title.

If the game does not detect the controller
- Recheck game support: Confirm that the specific title supports external controllers. A working Windows connection alone does not establish game support.
- Check the connection: For Bluetooth, verify that the controller is paired and listed in Windows. If you recently changed devices, pair it with the PC again.
- Update controller software: EA says driver or firmware updates may be needed when a controller is not detected. Sony provides the PlayStation Accessories app for Windows to update DualSense firmware: Update DualSense controller firmware.
- Review the game’s own settings: Check its controller options and button prompts. If the game is launched through Steam, consult its current Steam controller-support listing; there is no single remapping setup established for all EA games launched through Steam.
EA’s general guidance is that most modern Xbox and PlayStation controllers are supported automatically, but driver or firmware updates may be needed if a controller is not detected: EA Help: How to use a controller with EA games.
