How to equip a Fortnite outfit
- Launch Fortnite and go to the Lobby.
- Open the Locker tab.
- Select Character.
- Choose the outfit you want to use.
- Click Back to equip it. The Lobby avatar reflects the selected cosmetics.
These are Epic Games’ current outfit-selection steps. The same general process applies to other Locker cosmetics: select an item in Locker, then click Back to equip it. See Epic’s outfit instructions and its general Locker equip instructions.

How to change an outfit’s style
Epic’s documented style-editing steps apply specifically to the Default Outfit; the instructions do not establish that every outfit has alternate styles.
- Open Locker, select Character, then open Outfits.
- Choose the hanger-and-shirt icon at the upper left of the outfit list.
- Select Default Outfit, then open the three-dot menu.
- Choose Edit Styles.
- On the Pick Outfit screen, choose the Default Outfit you want.

How to randomize your outfit
To use Fortnite’s Randomize control, open Locker, go to Character, select the three-dot menu, and choose Randomize. Epic’s instructions do not specify which items are included in the randomization pool. Details are in Epic’s outfit help page.
How to favorite and find an outfit
Epic documents these Favorite Item controls for PC and consoles. On PC, open the cosmetic’s three-dot menu in Locker and choose Favorite Item. On consoles, navigate to the item and press and hold the left stick.

To find favorites, use Sort + Filter, filter by Favorites, and apply the filter for the relevant cosmetic category. Controls can differ by device or change with updates, so use Epic’s Locker guidance if the described option is not visible.

First make sure you are signed into the Epic account where the outfit was purchased, earned, or claimed. Epic says items cannot be manually transferred between Epic accounts; they remain with the account that acquired them.

If a platform is linked to the wrong Epic account, Epic support says relinking may resolve the issue. For a recent purchase, repurchasing on the intended account may be possible only if the item is still in the Item Shop and you have a Cancel Purchase or Return Ticket available. See Epic’s account and missing-item support guidance for the relevant options.
What Fortnite skins do—and don’t—guarantee
Outfits are licensed in-game content, not items that can be moved between accounts at will. Epic’s Terms of Service, Section 10, says in-game content can be acquired through access, gameplay, purchase, or in-game credits, and that compatibility may be limited by an experience’s design or ratings. Features, pricing, and availability may change. The official Locker instructions do not establish that skins change gameplay performance or provide an advantage.
