To break compatible ice blocks in Wuthering Waves, unlock a Glommoth Echo, select it in the in-game Projector, then get close enough and face the target so the projection can reach it. The Projector is a Utility accessed through the Utility Wheel—not a physical item.
What the Projector does
Kuro Games’ Version 3.0 notes explain that unlocked Echoes from the Gallery can be equipped in the Projector through the Utility Wheel. Use the Projector’s selection menu to choose the Echo to project. The notes describe the mechanic as a way to handle special interactions in some Lahai-Roi puzzles.

For certain ice blocks in the Frostlands, the relevant projection is Glommoth. The guides describe these as compatible puzzle targets; they do not establish that ordinary attacks break them.

How to break an ice block with Glommoth
- Obtain Glommoth. You need to collect the Glommoth Echo in the overworld before you can select it. Game8’s Unfrozen Traces guide describes collecting it for the event objective.
- Equip and select Glommoth. Open the Utility Wheel, access the Projector selection menu, and choose your unlocked Glommoth Echo.
- Locate a compatible ice block. Look for the puzzle blocks described in the Frostlands guides. If you are doing Unfrozen Traces, track the task to help find its target.
- Position yourself and project. Move near the block, face it, and activate the Projector. The Glommoth projection charges toward compatible objects. For objectives involving multiple blocks, use an angle from which the relevant targets are visible.
- Check what the ice was blocking. Breaking a target can uncover a route or an object such as a chest or Soliskin.
If Glommoth does nothing
- Check the selected Echo: make sure Glommoth is unlocked, assigned to the Projector, and selected in its menu.
- Check that the ice is a puzzle target: the guidance applies to compatible Frostlands blocks, not every icy surface.
- Adjust your position: move closer, face the block, and try projecting again. Projection range and angle can affect whether it reaches the object.
- For Unfrozen Traces: track the task and reposition so you can see all relevant blocks from the projection angle.
- If the objective has a purple marker: a player in a Reddit help thread reported success by standing on the marker, facing the ice, and using the Projector. This is anecdotal advice for that marker objective, not a universal requirement.
