“igdrclneo64.dll is missing,” “igdrclneo64.dll was not found,” “igdrclneo64.dll could not be loaded,” and “the code execution cannot proceed because igdrclneo64.dll was not found” are common forms of this problem. igdrclneo64.dll is an Intel integrated-graphics driver component, so the reliable fix is normally to repair, roll back, or reinstall the Intel graphics driver rather than download the DLL.
The 60-second answer
igdrclneo64.dll is associated with Intel OpenCL graphics components. OpenCL is used by some creative applications, camera components, games, and other software to access graphics-processing features.

Start with the computer manufacturer’s graphics driver. Laptop manufacturers often customize Intel drivers for their hardware, display, camera, power-management, and hybrid-GPU configuration. If no suitable OEM package is available, use Intel’s official List of Drivers for Intel Graphics or Driver & Support Assistant.
What is igdrclneo64.dll?
Intel publicly indexes both igdrclneo32.dll and igdrclneo64.dll in its graphics-driver symbol repository. The 64 suffix identifies the 64-bit variant.
That does not mean every Intel graphics generation uses the same build, or that the 32-bit and 64-bit files are interchangeable. The complete driver package must match the Intel GPU, Windows installation, and application architecture.
The file is a driver component, not normally a standalone Windows component. An Intel graphics driver may be installed by:
- Your laptop or desktop manufacturer
- Windows Update
- An Intel graphics driver package
- A system recovery or OEM firmware package
You may see it involved with Intel integrated graphics even when the computer also has a separate NVIDIA or AMD graphics card. In that arrangement, applications can still initialize the Intel GPU or its OpenCL components.
Is the file safe or malware?
The filename is associated with a legitimate Intel graphics component, but a filename alone does not prove that a file is authentic. Check its location and provenance.
A file under an Intel driver folder in DriverStoreFileRepository is consistent with a normal driver installation. A copy found in a temporary folder, Downloads, an unfamiliar application directory, or another unrelated location deserves further checking.

Do not delete individual files from DriverStore. Removing driver files manually can leave Device Manager and Windows Installer with an incomplete package.
What the different errors mean
“Missing” or “not found”
Windows or an application expected the file at a particular driver location and could not find or access it. Causes include an incomplete driver update, corruption, antivirus quarantine, or an application looking for an incompatible driver component.
“Could not be loaded”
The file may exist, but Windows could not load it. A dependency may be damaged, the driver may be mismatched, or the graphics stack may be incompatible with the application.
“Bad image” or “not designed to run on Windows”
This usually indicates that the file or one of its dependencies is corrupted, incomplete, the wrong architecture, or incompatible with the current Windows installation. Replacing one DLL with an arbitrary copy does not reliably correct that condition.
The file appears as a faulting module
This is different from a missing-file error. If Event Viewer names igdrclneo64.dll as the faulting module, the DLL was often found and loaded before the graphics operation failed.
Foundry documents launch crashes involving this Intel OpenCL component in some software using Intel integrated graphics. Autodesk has also documented a Maya launch problem associated with the file. A Microsoft Q&A report identified it in a svchost.exe_FrameServer camera failure.
In these cases, downloading another copy is unlikely to help. Treat the report as evidence of a driver regression, graphics incompatibility, or damaged application interaction.

Find the computer model
- Press Windows + R.
- Type
msinfo32. - Press Enter.
- Note System Manufacturer and System Model.
- Visit that manufacturer’s official support page.
- Search for the exact model.
- Download the Intel graphics or display driver intended for your Windows version.
For a Surface device, use the matching Surface driver and firmware package rather than assuming that a generic Intel package is appropriate.
Check the Intel GPU
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Record the Intel graphics model.
- Right-click the Intel adapter and choose Properties.
- Open the Driver tab and record the provider, date, and version.
Close graphics-heavy applications, run the OEM installer, and restart when prompted.
Verify the repair
After restarting:
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Double-click the Intel graphics adapter.
- Open the Driver tab.
- Confirm that the device reports normally.
- Start the application that previously failed.
A successful repair usually means the application starts without the missing-file message and Device Manager shows no warning icon. It does not require manually locating or copying the DLL.
If you are repeatedly comparing driver versions, searching hardware pages, or guessing which of several old packages is stale, Outbyte Driver Updater can scan for driver problems and identify available repairs; its free scan shows what is wrong, while driver installation through the full version is optional. It is not required, and the OEM package remains the preferred source for customized computers.
Fix 2: Update or roll back the Intel driver
Use an update when the driver is old or the application vendor requires a newer graphics stack. Use a rollback when the problem started immediately after a driver or Windows update.
Update through Windows
- Right-click Start.
- Select Settings.
- Open Windows Update.
- Select Advanced options.
- Open Optional updates.
- Expand Driver updates if available.
- Select the relevant Intel graphics update.
- Install it and restart.
Windows Update may not offer the best OEM release. If the issue remains, install the manufacturer’s package manually.
Roll back in Device Manager
- Right-click Start and select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click the Intel adapter.
- Select Properties.
- Open the Driver tab.
- Select Roll Back Driver if available.
- Choose a reason and complete the wizard.
- Restart Windows.
If Roll Back Driver is unavailable, download the previous approved driver from the computer manufacturer and install it using the vendor’s instructions.
Fix 3: Reinstall the graphics driver
Use a reinstall when the driver is present but the file is missing, the device has a warning icon, or the application still crashes after updating.

Prefer the graphics driver installer’s Remove, Clean installation, or equivalent supported option. If the vendor provides no removal option:
- Create a restore point.
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click the Intel adapter.
- Select Uninstall device.
- If offered, select Attempt to remove the driver for this device.
- Confirm the uninstall.
- Restart the computer.
- Install the downloaded OEM Intel graphics package.
- Restart again.
Do not remove every display adapter simply because the computer also has NVIDIA or AMD graphics. Keep the discrete-GPU driver unless it is separately causing a problem. On hybrid systems, install the Intel driver first when the Intel adapter is the component named in the error.
For a persistent application crash, uninstalling the Intel graphics package through Settings > Apps > Installed apps, restarting, and reinstalling the OEM package may be more effective than repeatedly replacing individual files.
Fix 4: Check Windows Security quarantine
Antivirus software can remove or quarantine a damaged-looking driver component.

Use these commands when Windows itself may have damaged system components, especially after an interrupted update. They are not a replacement for reinstalling the Intel driver.
- Open Start.
- Type
Command Prompt. - Right-click it.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Wait for it to finish. Then run:

If SFC reports that it repaired files, test the application again. If it finds no violation or cannot repair everything, reinstall the Intel graphics driver. An Intel Driver Store file may not be restored by SFC.
When automatic Windows repair, repeated scans, or component-store troubleshooting becomes difficult to track manually, Outbyte PC Repair can scan for Windows problems and show what needs attention; its free scan identifies issues, while repair through the full version is optional. It is not required, and it does not replace the OEM graphics-driver reinstall when the driver package is the real cause.
Fix 6: Repair the affected application
If only one program fails:
- Update the application from its official installer or launcher.
- Use its Repair, Verify files, or equivalent function.
- Restart Windows.
- Check whether the program allows selection of the preferred GPU.
- Test with the Intel GPU and the discrete GPU separately if the system has both.
For a game, use the launcher’s file-verification feature. For a creative application, check its hardware acceleration or OpenCL settings. A damaged application can expose a driver problem, but reinstalling the application is the appropriate fix when its own files are incomplete.
Do not use regsvr32 for this file
Do not run:
regsvr32 igdrclneo64.dll
regsvr32 is intended for DLLs that provide registration entry points such as DllRegisterServer. It is not a general missing-DLL repair command. An Intel OpenCL graphics component should be restored by reinstalling its driver package.
Do not download or copy the DLL
Avoid DLL-library websites, file-sharing pages, and copies taken from another computer. The replacement may contain malware, belong to a different Intel driver generation, use the wrong 32-bit or 64-bit architecture, or fail because related driver files are also missing.
The safe sources are:
- Your computer manufacturer’s official support page
- Intel’s official graphics-driver catalog
- Intel Driver & Support Assistant
- Windows Update
The correct repair installs the complete, matching driver package.
If the problem started after Windows Update
Install the OEM graphics driver again, restart, and then check Settings > Windows Update for pending updates. If the failure clearly follows a recent update and a restore point exists:
- Open Start and search for Create a restore point.
- Open it.
- Select System Restore.
- Choose a restore point from before the driver change.
- Complete the wizard and restart.
System Restore is a fallback, not the first repair. Afterward, install the manufacturer’s approved graphics package.

FAQ
Is igdrclneo64.dll part of Windows?
It is delivered as part of an Intel graphics driver package, which Windows Update may install, but it is not a generic Windows runtime DLL.
Why is it called 64?
It identifies the 64-bit variant. Do not substitute igdrclneo32.dll or use a file from another computer. The complete driver and application architecture must match.
Should I install Visual C++, DirectX, or .NET?
Not for this file alone. Install those runtimes only when the application separately reports a missing or damaged runtime. The primary repair here is the Intel graphics driver.
Why does Event Viewer list the file when it is not missing?
The DLL may have loaded successfully and then failed during an OpenCL or graphics operation. That points toward driver compatibility, corruption, or a hybrid-GPU interaction rather than a missing file.
Can I delete the file and let Windows recreate it?
No. Do not delete individual files from Driver Store. Reinstall the complete OEM or Intel graphics driver.
What if the computer has Intel and NVIDIA or AMD graphics?
Keep both drivers unless testing identifies a separate problem. Reinstall the Intel driver because igdrclneo64.dll belongs to the Intel graphics stack, and verify which GPU the affected application is using.
