Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road has three different roster contexts: the new-generation teams in Story Mode, the series-wide historical cast in Chronicle Mode, and the custom squads used in Competition Mode. The most important distinction is that a character is not always a football player, and a team listed in the game is not necessarily available immediately.
The game launched on November 13, 2025, for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The following guide uses the current English names and official roster information.

How Victory Road’s rosters are organized
Victory Road’s official site presents three main ways to encounter characters and teams:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Story Mode: follows Destin Billows and the new generation at South Cirrus Junior High.
- Chronicle Mode: revisits matches from across Inazuma Eleven history and provides the main route for collecting past and present characters.
- Competition Mode: uses collected and trained characters in bot and online matches.
These categories overlap, but they answer different questions. Story Mode tells you which teams matter to the new narrative. Chronicle Mode explains why the roster extends far beyond the story cast. Competition Mode is where those characters become part of custom, mixed-era teams.

South Cirrus Junior High: the new protagonist team
South Cirrus Junior High is the central school in Story Mode. Destin Billows enrolls there while searching for a world without football, making the school the narrative starting point for Victory Road’s new generation.
Main South Cirrus characters
| Character | Official position or role |
|---|---|
| Destin Billows | Not listed |
| Briar Bloomhurst | FW |
| Cedric Freud | MF |
| Raika Shinohara | FW |
| Cade Shelby | DF |
| Alix La Fontaine | GK |
| Thierry Reyes | Not listed |
| Elaine Sereno | Not listed |
| Lilac Tausend | Not listed |
| Juno Hundertmark | Not listed |
| Edwin Grove | Not listed |
The official character page does not assign football positions to Destin, Thierry, Elaine, Lilac, Juno, or Edwin. That means they should not automatically be labeled players, substitutes, coaches, or managers based only on their appearance on the team page.
Selectable South Cirrus characters
The official South Cirrus roster also lists these 15 selectable characters:
Recommended Free Tools
- Winsor Compete
- Charis Benzaie
- Maine Alsop
- Dario Highton
- Amelia Rainwalker
- Marisol Cavallo
- Meridia Althoff
- Tai Richter
- Davin Bullock
- Lycus Foxworth
- Florent Shorleigh
- Antonia Felicier
- Kelvin Steelborne
- Lemmy Stretchen
- Starla Thorn
The page confirms their association with South Cirrus and their selectable status, but it does not specify positions for them or say how many must be used in a particular lineup.
Raimon: a new generation, not Mark Evans’ original team
Victory Road’s story features a newer generation of Raimon Junior High. It is not the original Raimon lineup led by Mark Evans. The official character page instead identifies Harper Evans as Raimon’s “Football Monster,” while the official story summary describes Raimon as the top team in the nationals.
| Character | Official position or role |
|---|---|
| Harper Evans | FW |
| Darian Moonward | MF |
| Talon Lewis | FW |
| Eleanor Estrella | MF |
| Maddock Jackson | MF |
| Colton Sharps | MF |
| Jazmine Carmine | MF |
| Boone Wretman | DF |
| Clement Mariner | DF |
| Viorain Maleby | DF |
| Zander Warmington | GK |
| Leia Caperton | Coordinator |
| Addison Norris | Manager |
This roster also shows why the game distinguishes positions from broader team roles: Leia Caperton is listed as a coordinator and Addison Norris as a manager, rather than as on-pitch players.

Royal Academy
The current official Royal Academy character page highlights Alice Rendell as Royal Academy’s Top General. It does not present a complete current Royal Academy playing lineup on that page.
Do not treat this entry as a direct roster list for the classic Royal Academy from the original games. Victory Road separates its current character presentation from the much larger historical cast shown through Chronicle Mode.
Chronicle Mode contains the series-wide roster
Chronicle Mode is both a historical match mode and Victory Road’s main collection route for characters from earlier Inazuma Eleven eras. Its official description says players can relive matches from the series with Victorio, a boy from the future.
The official Chronicle character page highlights:
- Victorio Cryptix
- Fei Rune
- Cross Word Cryptix
- Clark von Wunderbar
- Misty
Those five are featured characters, not the complete Chronicle roster. An official update describes Chronicle as containing more than 5,400 characters from past and present titles. Older figures such as 5,200 are outdated.
Chronicle therefore serves two purposes:
- Historical progression: revisit matches and moments from across the franchise.
- Roster expansion: scout characters from previous games and eras for use in custom teams.
How teams and characters work together
A character is an individual collectible player or support figure. A team is a story, historical, or challenge lineup that can be faced or used in the relevant mode.

Competition teams can be developed with:
- Team Passives, which are unique sets associated with characters;
- the Abilearn Board;
- Bond Link;
- equipment;
- Build Ranks; and
- character-based offensive and defensive Synergies.
Team Passives and Synergies are not the same system. Team Passives come from character-associated sets, while Synergies result from assigning specific combinations of characters. In practical terms, the best Competition lineup may not be a canon team at all: it can be a deliberately assembled “dream team” optimized around development and combination effects.
How many teams are in Victory Road?
The clearest current official number applies to a specific Chronicle activity. The Contenders for Glory DLC, released on July 6, 2026, added 45 teams to Legend Showdown in Chronicle Mode, bringing that mode’s total to 108 teams.
That does not mean there are only 108 teams in the entire game. The figure refers specifically to teams available in Legend Showdown after that update. It should not be expanded to cover every team name, historical variant, opponent lineup, or team-related entry elsewhere in Victory Road.
BB Stadium teams and unlocks
The March 31, 2026 update made all teams intended for BB Stadium, also called Battle Bay Stadium, available in the game. However, the official notice also says that individual teams unlock as you progress through Chronicle Mode.
So “all teams available” means the content has been added—not that a new save can select every team immediately. If a BB Stadium team is missing, continue progressing through Chronicle rather than assuming the update failed or the team is unavailable.
Finding characters with the official Player Codex
The official online database is Inazuma Eleven: Player Codex—Inazugle. Its active character search can filter by:

Choose the filters you need and press the Search button. The separate Character Role filter matters because the database distinguishes players from support roles. A character appearing in Inazugle is therefore not automatically a usable on-pitch footballer.
The Codex currently labels its Teams section Coming Soon. It is useful as a character database, but it is not yet a complete searchable team database.
The site also warns that it will be updated regularly, that newly appearing characters may be added later, and that details such as player attributes can change. Treat it as a living reference rather than a permanently final roster sheet.
Current version and naming notes
The current official English site lists Victory Road as available now and uses South Cirrus Junior High as the English team name. Older development material and Japanese-language references may use different names or transliterations, so South Cirrus is the appropriate name for an English-language guide based on the current UI.
For PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Steam, the latest listed notice in the supplied official update history is version 7.1.2, released July 29, 2026. That patch corrected an issue with duplicate claims for a Victory Road Beta Tournament reward. This version detail applies to the platforms named in that notice and should not automatically be assumed to describe every platform’s update timing.
