The iQOO 15 Ultra is real, but it did not debut on August 18, 2026. iQOO launched the gaming-focused flagship in China in February 2026. Its headline features include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform, a dedicated Q3 gaming chip, an integrated cooling fan, pressure-sensitive 600Hz shoulder triggers, a 6.85-inch 2K/144Hz display and a 7,400mAh battery.
It could be an unusually capable phone for serious mobile gaming, but the buying decision is less straightforward outside China. Official US availability, pricing and warranty support remain unconfirmed, while imported units may bring software, carrier-band and repair complications.

Why the iQOO 15 Ultra matters to gamers
The iQOO 15 Ultra is the first Ultra-branded flagship in the iQOO 15 family and is designed around sustained gaming rather than simply peak benchmark performance. Its hardware combines a flagship Snapdragon processor with a separate Q3 gaming chip, an internal active-cooling system and extra controls that conventional smartphones generally lack.

That does not automatically make it the “ultimate gaming phone.” That phrase is positioning language. Whether it is the right phone depends on how much the buyer values sustained cooling and integrated controls over global software, camera performance, weight and official after-sales support.

Built-in active cooling: what the fan actually does
Most smartphones rely on passive cooling. A vapor chamber, graphite layers, thermal interface materials and the frame spread heat away from the processor, but they do not actively move air. The iQOO 15 Ultra adds a mechanical fan to its passive cooling hardware.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →According to iQOO, the system includes a 17×17mm fan with 59 blades, hidden air inlets, dual dust filters and a maximum single-fan airflow figure of 0.315 CFM. The phone also uses an 8K-class vapor-chamber cooling system. In principle, the fan can help remove heat from the cooling path more quickly during prolonged loads, improving the phone’s chance of maintaining performance before thermal limits intervene.
The fan offers three automatic speed levels and a manual setting. The manual control is accessed through Game Magic Box sidebar → Performance panel → Cooling fan. iQOO notes that the interface and one-tap cooling function depend on a newer software version and may change after updates. Its official service guidance also provides fan-related maintenance information.

The advantages
- Better potential for sustained performance in long gaming sessions.
- More useful for high-refresh-rate gaming, livestreaming and other continuous workloads than for short benchmark bursts.
- Greater separation between internal heat and the player’s hands when the cooling system is operating effectively.
The limitations
- A fan does not guarantee higher frame rates in every game.
- Game engines, frame-rate caps, software profiles, battery level and room temperature remain important.
- Mechanical cooling adds noise, dust exposure, wear and repair complexity.
- The advertised “up to 20dB” noise figure is a manufacturer claim, not an independent measurement.
iQOO also publishes gaming temperature and frame-rate demonstrations, including a 60-minute Honor of Kings livestreaming test at 144fps with a stated maximum rear-surface temperature of 41.5°C. Those figures describe the company’s test conditions and should not be treated as universal real-world results.
600Hz shoulder triggers and four-finger control
The phone’s pressure-sensitive shoulder controls are sampled at up to 600Hz. They can map additional inputs onto the sides of the device, allowing a player to separate actions such as aiming, firing, movement and abilities instead of placing every command on the touchscreen.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
This is most relevant to FPS, MOBA and action games. A player may be able to use the shoulder areas for two extra commands while keeping more of the display clear, making four-finger control easier without an external controller.
These are not necessarily physical, clicky buttons. They are pressure-sensitive controls, so their feel and reliability will differ from phones with mechanical triggers. Mapping also depends on the game, the overlay system and the regional software build. Anti-cheat restrictions or a game’s control layout may limit what can be mapped. Claims of a 32ms response time appearing in secondary coverage should be treated as promotional or test-specific claims rather than a universal latency measurement.
Before importing the phone, verify that trigger mapping works in the exact games you play and on the specific ROM installed on the seller’s device.

Display and gaming performance features
The 6.85-inch flat AMOLED display has a 3168×1440 resolution and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. iQOO lists Samsung M14 luminous material, 118% P3 colour-area coverage, 2,160Hz PWM dimming at low brightness and DC dimming at high brightness.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

The phone also supports up to 4,000Hz instantaneous touch sampling after an OTA update, alongside up to 480Hz multi-finger touch sampling and 500Hz gyroscope sampling. These are input and panel capabilities, not a promise that every game will respond at those rates. The game, software version and performance profile must support them.
iQOO promotes native 144fps modes in selected Chinese games and additional frame-generation, upscaling, livestreaming and network features. Those modes are game-specific; a 144Hz display does not make every title render at 144 frames per second.
Battery, charging and the weight trade-off
The 7,400mAh typical battery is one of the phone’s strongest specifications. vivo lists a 7,240mAh rated capacity, 27.68Wh typical energy, a single-cell design, 100W wired charging, 40W wireless charging and PD/PPS compatibility.

A large battery should help offset the demands of a high-refresh display, cellular connectivity and gaming, but capacity is not the same as guaranteed battery life. Brightness, refresh rate, signal strength, frame rate, fan use, livestreaming and charging while playing will all affect endurance.
The cost of that capacity and gaming hardware is a body weighing approximately 227g and measuring about 8.70mm thick. That is reasonable for this class of device, but it is not a lightweight or compact phone. Long gaming sessions may benefit from the battery while ordinary one-handed use may not.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Cameras and everyday use
The rear camera system includes a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation, a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto with OIS and a 50MP ultrawide with a 107-degree field of view. A 32MP f/2.2 camera handles selfies.
This is a more versatile setup than many gaming phones provide, but the hardware alone does not establish camera leadership. Independent testing would be needed to judge night photography, video stabilisation, recording limits, autofocus, colour consistency between lenses and image processing.
Everyday compromises may also include the phone’s weight, fan noise, China-market applications, notification behaviour, language support, Google services, Android Auto compatibility and banking-app reliability. Those details can vary by software version and by whether a reseller has modified the original ROM.

iQOO 15 Ultra price and configurations
vivo’s official China specification page lists these suggested retail prices:
| Configuration | Suggested retail price |
|---|---|
| 16GB + 256GB | CNY 6,199 |
| 16GB + 512GB | CNY 6,499 |
| 16GB + 1TB | CNY 7,499 |
| 24GB + 1TB | CNY 8,199 |
Some launch reports cited a starting price of CNY 5,699. That appears to refer to an introductory promotion rather than the official suggested retail price. The two figures should not be presented as identical.
There is no confirmed US retail price in the available evidence. Converting Chinese pricing directly into a US price would also ignore sales tax, shipping, customs, retailer margin, currency movements, warranty costs and return expenses.
China launch and global availability
The confirmed launch market is China, and the official documentation is China-market documentation for model V2546A. A report about EEC certification suggests that international expansion may be possible, but certification is not the same as an announced retail launch.
As of the available information, readers should not assume that the iQOO 15 Ultra is officially sold in the United States or globally. There is no established US launch date, US price, carrier listing or domestic warranty arrangement in the evidence used here. See the EEC and possible-global-availability report for the distinction between certification and retail availability.
Import checklist for US buyers
- Confirm the exact model number and supported LTE and 5G bands for your carrier.
- Check VoLTE and VoWiFi support, not just basic network connectivity.
- Ask whether the device has the original China ROM, a global ROM or a reseller-modified ROM.
- Verify Google Play, language options, notifications, banking apps and Android Auto before the return period expires.
- Confirm the charger plug, included accessories, shipping terms, customs responsibility and total landed cost.
- Get written warranty and repair terms; an international seller warranty is not the same as US service.
- Understand the return process if the device is incompatible or the software cannot be changed.
Should you buy or wait?
Import it if you:
- Prioritise sustained gaming performance over camera leadership.
- Specifically want integrated shoulder controls and active cooling.
- Value a very large battery and wireless charging.
- Play titles that support control mapping and high-refresh-rate modes.
- Are comfortable with China-market software and can secure a credible seller warranty.
Wait or choose another phone if you:
- Need official US warranty, domestic repairs and predictable carrier support.
- Rely on Android Auto, carrier-specific features, banking apps or guaranteed Google services.
- Want a lighter phone or a camera-first flagship.
- Expect silent operation under heavy loads.
- Cannot verify the ROM, model number, network bands or return policy.
The standard iQOO 15 may be the more sensible comparison for buyers who want the broader flagship platform without the Ultra model’s added fan and gaming controls. Dedicated gaming phones with fans and shoulder controls are also the natural alternatives, while conventional Snapdragon flagships generally trade those features for more predictable global software and support. Current rival prices and regional availability should be checked separately rather than inferred here.
Bottom line
The iQOO 15 Ultra is a genuine China-launched gaming flagship, not a conventional phone with a few gaming modes added afterward. Its built-in fan, Q3 gaming chip, 600Hz shoulder triggers, 144Hz 2K display and 7,400mAh battery give it a distinctive case for serious mobile players.
Recommended Free Tools
It is most compelling for China-based buyers and experienced importers who can verify game compatibility, software, network support and warranty coverage. For US buyers who need reliable local service and fully localised software, waiting for an official international announcement—or choosing an established global gaming or performance phone—is the safer decision.
