Is DayZ down on Xbox right now?
There is no confirmed Xbox-wide outage in the sources reviewed as of October 8, 2026. Bohemia Interactive’s support material does not provide a live Xbox service-status declaration, so the lack of an outage announcement is not proof that every server is working. The available evidence is an individual connection report and separate player complaints about gameplay after an update.

DayZ is an online survival game available on Xbox One, but platform availability does not establish whether its services are reachable at a particular moment. Bohemia’s official site lists a 1.30 Experimental Release announcement dated September 16, 2026, and a stable 1.29 Road to Badlands update dated July 15, 2026. Those dates provide update context; they do not show that an update caused the reported problems.
What Xbox players have reported
Connection failed (0x00010001)
An Xbox Series X player reported persistent “Connection failed (0x00010001)” errors on August 25, 2026, mainly while trying official servers. The player said some community servers were sometimes reachable. The report is marked Reviewed on Bohemia Interactive’s public tracker, where a moderator requested more diagnostic information and said the pattern could indicate a network issue. That is a tentative assessment of one report, not a confirmed diagnosis or an announcement of a broader incident. Read the tracker report.

The player said they had restarted the game, console and router; reinstalled the game; changed regions; tried other servers; and tested a mobile hotspot. The tracker material does not confirm that these steps resolved the issue, and it does not provide a final fix.
“Unplayable after update” complaints
A recent Xbox community thread describes varied post-update experiences, including interaction difficulties, loading or rendering complaints, and different results across players and consoles. These are individual accounts, not evidence of how widespread the problems are or what caused them. Read the player discussion.

Before troubleshooting, note where the failure happens. The available reports describe distinct symptoms, and the server-maintenance guidance applies only to one of them.

If DayZ servers are missing from the Xbox browser
Bohemia Interactive’s multiplayer FAQ says scheduled Wednesday maintenance at 08:00 (GMT+1) is a likely reason servers may not appear in the browser. This guidance is about missing listings; it should not be treated as an explanation for every failed connection or in-game performance problem. If the browser is still missing servers after maintenance, contact Bohemia Interactive support.

If you cannot connect to a listed server
The reported 0x00010001 issue has not been tied to a confirmed cause or resolution. To make your own report useful, capture the exact error and note whether you can reach official servers, community servers, or neither. If practical, compare another server, region or network connection, as the tracker reporter did; a difference may help describe the pattern, but it does not by itself prove what is wrong.
An Xbox community discussion suggests comparing Wi-Fi with a wired Ethernet connection for some connection or desynchronization complaints. This is an optional comparison raised by players, not an official fix for error 0x00010001 and not a guarantee of improvement.

Use Bohemia Interactive’s support page for its DayZ FAQs and feedback route. When reporting the issue, include your Xbox model, the time it occurred, the exact error or in-game symptom, and whether it affected official servers, community servers, or both. Do not present the moderator’s tentative network suggestion as a confirmed cause.
