Xbox names Xbox Series X|S and PC, with cloud access also available through listed services. That means PlayStation players should not expect to join Xbox or PC friends on the basis of the information available; it does not prove a PlayStation release could never happen.
Is Gears of War: E-Day coming to PlayStation?
As of Xbox’s October 1, 2026 launch update, PlayStation is not among the announced platforms. Xbox lists Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC and Steam, as well as cloud access through Game Pass Ultimate and GeForce NOW. Its official game page also names Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC. These are the platforms and access routes Xbox has announced; they do not establish whether a PlayStation version might be announced later.

#1 Best Overall
- AN ORIGIN STORY BEGINS — Fight alongside Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago in the gripping origin story of Emergence Day, as the Locust Horde erupts from below.
- A DARKER, GRITTIER THREAT — Face reimagined enemies and a terrifying underground invasion that restores the fear, dread, and intensity at the heart of the Gears of War series.
- MULTIPLAYER EVOLVED — Battle in Horde Siege for large‑scale PvE action or prove your skill in refined Versus PvP with greater precision and competitive depth.
- CLASSIC COMBAT, MODERNIZED — Experience signature cover‑based gameplay enhanced with updated movement, traversal, and controls that feel like Gears while playing like something new.
- CO‑OP YOUR WAY — Play online with up to four players across Campaign, Horde Siege, and Versus, or team up locally with 2‑player split‑screen co‑op on console.
Does Gears of War: E-Day have crossplay?
Xbox’s official materials identify Xbox cross-platform multiplayer, but they do not provide a complete launch cross-play matrix showing every compatible console, PC storefront or game mode. The full-game Xbox listing names cross-platform multiplayer as a capability; the beta listing also calls out Xbox cross-platform multiplayer. This supports a limited statement that Xbox documents cross-platform play, not a guarantee that every platform group shares every mode or matchmaking pool.
What the beta instructions establish
The official beta FAQ says an Xbox account must be linked to send a cross-platform squad invite during the beta. That is a beta-specific requirement; it should not be assumed to describe every launch invite or account rule.

- Disc only. Original case and manual not included. Will come packaged in a generic case.
- This renewed game has been cleaned, tested, and shows minimal wear.
What the player counts mean
Xbox lists online co-op for 2–4 players and online multiplayer for 2–12 players. These are published mode capacities, not evidence that players on different platforms can join the same session.
Choosing a platform if you want to play with friends
If playing together is the deciding factor, distinguish confirmed platform availability from confirmed cross-play compatibility. Xbox’s listings do not include PlayStation, and the official information cited here does not settle every Xbox-to-PC or storefront-to-storefront combination at launch.
