Yes. Grounded 2 first became playable on July 29, 2025, in Xbox Game Preview and Steam Early Access. It later arrived on PlayStation 5 on August 11, 2026, alongside the Into the Abyss update. That PS5 launch did not make the game a final 1.0 release: Xbox still lists its version as Game Preview and Steam as Early Access.
When did Grounded 2 launch?

Xbox Wire’s August 11, 2026 platform and update announcement lists these platforms and says the game can be played through Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass. Store terms and subscription catalogs can vary by region and change over time, so check the relevant storefront for current availability and edition details.
Is Grounded 2 included with Game Pass?
Xbox Wire lists Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass as access options. For cloud play specifically, Obsidian’s Grounded 2 FAQ says an active Game Pass Ultimate subscription is required. Subscription access and cloud availability are distinct from buying the game through a storefront; verify the current catalog and terms for your region before subscribing or purchasing.
Is Grounded 2 a full release?
Not according to the cited official materials. Xbox continues to describe its version as Game Preview, and Steam as Early Access. The PS5 arrival is a platform release, but neither the August 2026 announcement nor the other cited materials establish a final 1.0 date. No full-release date is stated in those sources.
