“Welcome to Noxus – Bite Marks,” published January 7, 2025, continues some story threads associated with Arcane season two—but Riot’s official listing does not identify it as a direct sequel. It is first a League of Legends cinematic introducing the game’s 2025 Noxus season, with Mel’s return and a pointed reference to Piltover giving it an unmistakable connection to Arcane.
Which League of Legends cinematic connects to Arcane?
The video is “Welcome to Noxus – Bite Marks”, listed in Riot Games’ cinematic archive as a media release dated January 7, 2025. Its immediate job is to launch the story focus for League’s first season of 2025, centered on Noxus. GameSpot reported that the season was set to begin January 9, 2025.
Calling it a sequel to Arcane is therefore useful shorthand for its story connections, not a confirmed official classification. Riot’s listing gives the cinematic’s title and date but does not label it an Arcane sequel. GameSpot describes it as continuing some of the show’s plot threads.
How does Bite Marks connect to Arcane season two?
Mel returns to Noxus
The cinematic shows Mel returning to Noxus, connecting the League season’s setting to a character and story thread from Arcane. Her presence makes Noxus more than a new backdrop: it places the game’s seasonal narrative alongside the show’s political fallout.

LeBlanc points back to Piltover
In the closing scene, Vladimir and LeBlanc discuss an opportunity. LeBlanc says, “Piltover was a lesson.” GameSpot connects the line to Arcane season two and the Black Rose. It signals that the events in Piltover matter to Noxus’s next moves, without by itself confirming a new television series or explaining every detail of the characters’ plans.
What happens in the cinematic?
“Bite Marks” intercuts three confrontations before its closing conversation:

- Katarina: She attempts an assassination, but Elise stops her.
- Darius: He faces the ice troll Trundle.
- Mel: She returns to Noxus, bringing the Arcane-linked thread into the season’s central region.
These scenes establish a broad Noxian story rather than a single uninterrupted continuation of the show. The finale brings the threads into a larger political frame through Vladimir and LeBlanc.
Why Noxus is the right setting for the League season
Noxus is a major political empire in Runeterra, and Riot made it the focus of League’s first 2025 season. GameSpot described Riot’s 2025 plan as three seasonal stories focused on different regions, with each season’s narrative serving as an anchor for additional game content. That makes the cinematic both a story bridge for Arcane viewers and an introduction to the game’s seasonal setting.

The evidence supports a narrative connection, not an announced Arcane sequel. Riot’s cinematic archive does not call “Bite Marks” a direct sequel, and the available reporting does not establish that the video is an installment in a planned television continuation. Riot has discussed animation and live-action development more broadly, but that company-wide direction does not confirm a specific future Arcane series.
The production link is real but distinct from the sequel question: Riot’s 2022 announcement identified Fortiche as the studio behind Arcane and many League videos, and described a longstanding creative partnership between the companies. That context explains why the cinematic’s visual and story world may feel familiar; it does not establish its formal place in Arcane canon.
