What does the PS5 version add?
The PS5 edition launched on August 14, 2026. 2K lists 60 FPS gameplay, increased resolution, improved loading times and bug fixes as improvements over the earlier release. PlayStation lists PS5 Pro Enhanced status and support for DualSense vibration and trigger effects, along with offline play, one player and Remote Play. The listing does not explain what the Pro enhancement specifically changes. PlayStation also cautions that some PS4 features may not be available on PS5; check the current platform listing if a particular feature matters to you.
Can PS4 owners upgrade for free?
Some can. According to 2K, eligible PS4 purchases made before August 14, 2026—including physical and digital editions, as well as copies from Mafia: Trilogy—receive a digital PS5 upgrade. What should returning players know about saves?
PS4 save data and achievements do not carry over to PS5. If you have already played on PS4, expect to start again rather than continue your existing progress.
