Fan-maintained coverage identifies Cyan Clash as a Venom costume and suggests the connection; the official material reviewed establishes relevant game and costume context, not a direct link between them.
What is Cyan Clash?
Cyan Clash is identified as a Venom costume in the fan-maintained Marvel Rivals Wiki. That identification is not confirmed by the official publisher source cited here, so it is best treated as fan-maintained reference rather than an official description.
Why do fans connect it to Marvel vs. Capcom?
The proposed connection is a visual reading of the outfit, particularly its cyan-and-blue color palette. Capcom’s 2017 article on premium costumes in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite confirms that the game had costume variants, giving the comparison historical context. It does not mention Cyan Clash or say that Marvel Rivals’ designers drew on Marvel vs. Capcom.
A resemblance can make the fan theory understandable, but color or costume details alone cannot establish design intent. No outfit-specific statement from the developers or publisher in the official sources reviewed confirms the proposed inspiration.

What the official sources establish
NetEase Games’ May 31, 2024 announcement described Marvel Rivals as a team-based PvP shooter and listed Venom among its heroes. The announcement also named PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S as planned launch platforms; those are details from that dated announcement, not a statement of the game’s complete current platform lineup. Read NetEase’s announcement.
Capcom’s article documents premium costumes in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, but neither that article nor the cited NetEase announcement establishes a Cyan Clash-to-Marvel vs. Capcom inspiration link. The strongest supported conclusion is therefore that this is a fan interpretation, not a confirmed crossover reference.
