Monsta Infinite’s official guide describes a play-to-earn game built around Monsta characters, a wallet and tokens; it says a battle team has three or more Monstas. But a price for a functional team cannot be established from the available marketplace information. Comparing one NFT listing with another would not answer what it costs to enter a playable game mode.
What kind of game is Monsta Infinite?
Monsta Infinite describes itself as an MMORPG with a turn-based card-game concept and play-to-earn mechanics. That is the project’s description, not an independent assessment of game quality or earning potential. Its official getting-started guide presents onboarding as a sequence involving a wallet, currency, Monsta characters, cloning and hatching, then gameplay. It says players should build a battle team of three or more Monstas.
That team requirement matters when estimating the cost to begin: the price of one character, even if visible, is not necessarily the price of a team that can enter a particular mode. The guide does not establish a current total team cost.
How Monsta Infinite’s tokens fit in
Monsta Infinite’s documentation describes MONI as its governance token and STT as the in-game and marketplace currency. The onboarding page says STT can be acquired by swapping MONI through JuggySwap or through third-party exchanges. It also recommends a non-custodial wallet and mentions MetaMask and BNB. These are project instructions, not investment recommendations, and wallet, network and token routes may change. See the project’s MONI documentation and STT documentation.

Monsta Infinite calls STT an inflationary utility token and says it was “engineered to maintain a stable value.” That wording is the project’s claim; it does not make STT a stablecoin or guarantee its market value. A token’s stated purpose does not establish what a player will spend or earn.
Why current marketplace prices do not settle the comparison
The Monsta Infinite marketplace search result showed a marketplace interface and a large listing count, but did not provide usable individual prices. The Axie marketplace result displayed prices for individual Axies. Those observations cannot establish which game has the lower entry cost: there is no comparable Monsta team total, and an individual Axie price is not the price of a functional team.

A meaningful comparison would need to use the lowest current cost of a team that can actually enter the same relevant game mode in each game. It should also account for required tokens, wallets, networks and transaction fees, check whether the assets work in the current game build, and use the same date, currency conversion and region. Listings and token prices can change quickly, so even a properly matched comparison would need a timestamp.
Monsta Infinite’s 2022 support articles describe buying and selling NFTs, swapping MONI for STT, and marketplace filters such as Monsta ID, type, class, clone usage and price. How its economy differs from Axie Infinity’s stated design
Axie Infinity’s official economy documentation describes a player-to-player market in which game resources and items are tokenized. It also discusses the tension between keeping Axies accessible to new players and avoiding excessive asset inflation. This explains an economic design challenge, but it is not an independent audit of actual player earnings or a current team-price comparison.
Both games involve tokenized assets, but that shared feature does not make their costs or economies directly interchangeable. To compare practical entry, a player would need current requirements and prices for assets usable in a specific mode, plus associated transaction costs. The available figures do not establish either game’s lowest playable-team cost.

Does either game guarantee play-to-earn income?
No income or payback conclusion is supported by these sources. Monsta Infinite’s description of play-to-earn mechanics does not establish what an individual player can earn. A credible earnings comparison would require dated data on player outcomes, current reward rules, fees and token conversion—not just a token’s stated function or an NFT listing price. Axie’s official economy paper discusses how its market is designed, not a guaranteed return for players.

What to verify before spending
- Check the current game access and requirements for the mode you intend to play; do not assume an available NFT listing is usable in that mode.
- Price the complete minimum viable team, rather than a single character, and include any required tokens and transaction fees.
- Confirm the wallet, network and token steps using current official instructions before connecting a wallet or making a transaction.
- Treat marketplace prices as time-sensitive listings, not as evidence of future resale value or earnings.
