Review counts and percentages change, reflect Steam users rather than console players, and should be considered alongside what each expansion adds. Survivors of the Void has the strongest balance of substantial additions and positive reception among the expansions checked. Seekers of the Storm’s all-time English score was Mixed despite a more positive but small recent sample. Alloyed Collective had a strong all-time score alongside a smaller, more mixed recent sample. Hallowed Concepts had been out for only three days, so its early rating is not settled consensus.
How DLC ownership works in co-op
DLC sharing is partial, and the exact rule depends on the expansion and platform. Steam descriptions for Survivors of the Void, Alloyed Collective, and Hallowed Concepts say one owner can enable certain expansion content—such as monsters, stages, or items—to appear for the whole lobby. A player who does not own the expansion cannot select its new survivors or permanently unlock its content. Nintendo gives similar guidance for the expansions included in its bundle: one owner can expose monsters, levels, and items to the lobby, but non-owners cannot choose DLC survivors or permanently unlock DLC content.

Can friends on different platforms play together?
Steam and Epic
Gearbox says crossplay between Steam and Epic is optional. Players need matching crossplay preferences, and changing the setting requires restarting the game. This does not establish universal crossplay between PC and consoles.

PlayStation
The US PlayStation listing includes PS4 and PS5 editions and says one purchase grants access to both on the same account. It lists online co-op with up to three friends. Console online play may require a paid platform subscription.
Nintendo Switch
Nintendo’s US listing describes a digital bundle with online and local wireless play for one to four players. Online play requires Nintendo Switch Online membership. The listing says the game behaves consistently on Switch 2, while play experience may differ on Switch Lite.
Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch support horizon
2K’s notice, updated October 8, 2026, says future content is planned for PC, Xbox Series S/X, and PS5—not Xbox One, PS4, or Nintendo Switch. Cross-generation co-op between PS4 and PS5, and between Xbox One and Xbox Series, remained possible when the notice was checked, but 2K says it will end after the next PlayStation and Xbox update. The notice also says PS4 and Xbox One owners who upgrade to the corresponding current-generation console will receive that version and previously purchased DLC at no additional cost. Because the timing depends on a future update, check 2K’s console-support notice before buying for an older console or organizing cross-generation play.

Check the live price and bundle contents
Prices and promotions vary by region, platform, and date. At the time of the 2026 review, Steam showed selected DLC promotions ending October 22, 2026. The US PlayStation listing showed a bundle with the base game and all four expansions for $38.49, discounted from $69.99, with the offer also ending October 22, 2026. These were dated snapshots, not permanent prices.
