A PlayStation promotional notice, reported in 2024, said other formats would be unavailable until October 8, 2025—but that was the end of a stated restriction, not a promise that an Xbox version would launch that day.
Was Silent Hill 2 Remake a PS5 exclusive?
Not in the strict sense: Konami announced the remake for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam in October 2022, and those were its launch platforms. It was therefore a timed console-platform exclusive to PS5, while also available on PC—not exclusive to PlayStation across all platforms.

Konami announced that the game would launch on PS5 and PC on October 8, 2024. Its announcement confirms those platforms and the original release date: Konami’s 2022 announcement and Konami’s 2024 release announcement.
What did the timed-exclusivity notice say?
A September 20, 2024 report by MeriStation said a PlayStation promotional trailer’s end card stated that the game was also available on PC and unavailable on other formats until October 8, 2025. The wording was reported in Spanish as “También disponible en PC. No disponible en otros formatos hasta el 08/10/25”; this is a reported notice, not a verified English-language quotation. MeriStation’s report is the source for that cutoff date.

What’s the catch with the exclusivity end date?
An exclusivity cutoff means the stated restriction ends; it does not guarantee that another platform’s version is announced, ready, or released on that date. In this case, the reported cutoff was October 8, 2025, while Xbox’s store lists November 21, 2025. The available sources establish that sequence, but not why the dates differ, so there is no basis here to attribute the gap to a contract term or technical issue.

Does the PlayStation bonus mean the game was exclusive?
No. The PlayStation Blog described pre-order mask bonuses for PS5. Those promotional bonuses are separate from the platform restriction and do not establish that the game was permanently exclusive. PlayStation Blog’s launch announcement covers the bonuses.

For Xbox, the official store lists Xbox Series X|S. Konami’s US product page lists PS5 and PC storefronts, including Steam, Epic, and GOG; because that page does not capture the later Xbox release, use the Xbox listing for Xbox availability.
