Thunder Lotus calls Spiritfarer “a cozy management game about dying.” You play Stella, a ferrymaster to the deceased, building and improving a boat, exploring, and caring for spirit friends before helping them move on. Its activities include farming, mining, fishing, harvesting, cooking, and crafting, with relationships and farewells at the center of the experience. How similar is Spiritfarer to At Fate’s End?
The strongest connection is thematic, not mechanical. Both games come from Thunder Lotus and put emotionally charged relationships at the heart of their stories. Spiritfarer focuses on caring for spirits and saying goodbye; At Fate’s End follows Shan as she confronts estranged siblings.

Thunder Lotus describes At Fate’s End as an action-adventure featuring sword combat, tactical dialogue, psychological insight, narrative puzzles, and emotional duels. Creative Director Nicolas Guérin says the studio is carrying forward Spiritfarer’s “rich emotional core” and interplay between mechanics and narrative, while taking them into “new territory” with a more intense, action-driven game about family fracture and possible reconciliation. Is Spiritfarer a good choice while you wait?
Choose it if what interests you about At Fate’s End is Thunder Lotus’s emotionally intimate storytelling, or if you want a slower game about relationships and difficult goodbyes. It offers a substantial change of pace rather than a warm-up for At Fate’s End’s combat and tactical conversations.

If you are specifically looking for something with sword fights, action, or family duels, Spiritfarer does not match that expectation. At Fate’s End is single-player, and its publisher lists Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Xbox Game Pass; those platform details may change. Thunder Lotus’s homepage update dated October 6, 2026 says the game is coming in 2027 and a Steam demo is out now. The dedicated game page still carries an older 2026 window, so use the newer homepage update for the current surfaced status.

For context, Thunder Lotus reported on June 8, 2025 that Spiritfarer had sold over 2,000,000 copies worldwide. That is a dated sales figure, not a current lifetime total. The studio’s June 2025 press release gives the figure.
