Does demo progress carry over?
Yes. SEGA Support says demo save data can be used to continue the full game with the same story and character status. The Steam listing likewise describes continuation in the full version, while Xbox says saved data carries over. PlayStation specifies that PS5 and PS4 demo save data transfers to the full game.

These statements describe continuation along the relevant platform or storefront path. They do not establish that a save can be transferred between unrelated platforms or storefronts. If the full game does not detect your demo save, check the instructions for the platform where you played and the version you plan to continue with.
How long does the demo take?
No official completion-time estimate is given in the cited sources. The time it takes will vary with your pace, exploration, and combat, so there is no reliable fixed number of hours to promise. A 2024 PC Gamer guide calls the demo substantial and describes the first four dungeons and seven Archetype classes, but that description is not a completion-time estimate.

Who should play it?
- Play it if you’re considering buying the full game. The demo is free, covers the opening, and lets you test the story and combat before spending money.
- Use it to check your fit with the game. If you’re unsure about a story-led JRPG or the combat mix, the opening gives you a chance to try those elements directly.
- Go in knowing it is a sample. It provides a meaningful start, but the available information does not show that every later system or the full game’s overall experience is represented.
How to continue into the full game
