Yes, but there is no single worldwide minimum age for PlayStation Plus. The minimum depends on the country or region registered to the PlayStation account, and parental consent may also be required. Being old enough to subscribe does not automatically make every game or feature available: content ratings, parental controls and feature-specific age rules still apply.
PlayStation Plus age requirements vary by account region
PlayStation’s published requirements differ by market. These examples are not a complete worldwide list; check the current PlayStation Plus usage terms for the country or region registered to your account.

The French terms state: “Les abonnés doivent être âgés d’au moins 7 ans et ceux de moins de 18 ans doivent avoir obtenu l’accord d’un parent ou tuteur légal.” In English: subscribers must be at least 7, and users under 18 must have parental or legal-guardian consent. Requirements elsewhere may differ.
Can a child have or pay for PlayStation Plus?
A child account may be able to subscribe through the family manager. PlayStation says a child family member can use funds in the family manager’s wallet, subject to the child’s spending limit. This is different from a child independently managing an adult account; use a separate child account and the family settings available for your region.

A family manager can also share some major PlayStation Plus benefits with child family members on one PS5 and one PS4. Sharing does not mean every benefit, game or feature is available to every child account.
Age eligibility is separate from access to games and features
Even when an account meets the local minimum age for PlayStation Plus, the child’s access to individual games and content depends on the title’s age rating and the family’s parental-control settings. PlayStation’s parent-safety guidance describes controls for content access, communication, playtime and spending.

Some Plus features also have their own age restrictions. PlayStation’s US PlayStation Plus games information says that cloud streaming through the PC App requires the user to be 18 or older, and that accessible content varies by subscriber age. That feature-specific rule should not be confused with the general minimum age to subscribe.

- Identify the account’s registered country or region. The relevant rule is tied to the account territory, not simply the country where the console is currently being used.
- Read the local PlayStation Plus usage terms. Use the terms for that registered territory to confirm the minimum age and any consent requirement; the US, Latin American and France examples above do not establish the rules for every market.
- Review family and parental-control settings. If the account belongs to a child, check the family manager’s spending limit and content restrictions as well as the rating and age requirements for the game or feature in question.
PlayStation’s March 2026 Terms of Service direct parents to support information about child-account age requirements. For an account in a market not listed above, the local usage terms and current support guidance are the appropriate references.
