The 7 PM ET announcement refers to a Walmart online restock reported for July 7, 2025—not a new event today.
Where the 7 PM ET restock claim comes from
A July 7, 2025 report said Walmart would offer an online Switch 2 restock at 7 PM Eastern that day, with early access for Walmart+ members. It named the standalone console and the Mario Kart World bundle, and linked the event to Walmart Deals, which began July 8, 2025. Those details describe that past event; they do not establish a new restock for October 8, 2026.

What Walmart currently lists
Walmart’s current Switch 2 shop lists the standard console for $499 and includes bundles such as the Mario Kart World bundle. The indexed listing showed low stock when checked, but that is only a snapshot: it does not guarantee availability, delivery, or pickup in your area, or at a later time. Walmart’s category page says, “Online or In-Store, Your Game Starts Here. While supplies last.”
Check the live product listing after setting your location, and confirm the seller, total checkout price, and delivery or pickup estimate before ordering. Walmart search results can include marketplace offers, so compare the exact bundle and seller rather than assuming every listing is the same offer.

How to read the current Switch 2 options
| Option | What is established | What to check before buying |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Switch 2 system | Walmart lists it at $499 in its current listing snapshot. | Live stock, seller, final price, and fulfillment for your location. |
| Mario Kart World bundle | Walmart lists the bundle; current bundle prices vary. | Exact included items, seller, total price, and availability. |
The $499 figure is the current standard-system listing, not a promise that the console is in stock everywhere. The July 7, 2025 report quoted $449 for the standard system and $499 for the Mario Kart World bundle; those are historical reported prices, not current price guidance.
What Nintendo’s product information confirms
Nintendo’s US product information lists the Switch 2 and Mario Kart World bundle. It also advertises a Switch Sports Resort bundle for October 22, 2026. That product announcement is not confirmation of a Walmart restock at 7 PM ET on October 8.

What to do if you want to buy a Switch 2 today
- Open Walmart’s live Switch 2 listing and set your delivery or pickup location.
- Check whether the console or bundle is available, then verify the seller and full checkout price.
- Review the estimated delivery or pickup timing before placing the order; stock and fulfillment can change.
No verified stock quantity, restock cadence, or sell-out time is established here, so a specific prediction about when listings will disappear would be unreliable.
